Announcement at 9:04 TLDR: I'm taking a 3-month break for a personal project, but there is a lot of fun stuff planned after that. I've read every comment until now and definitely want to continue doing that, but I'm not sure if I'm able to during the break, so don't be confused if I answer a month later. Thanks a lot for the huge support

I am new to these and I really enjoyed this video. very well put together and simple. no annoying voice that would make me want to quit. good job bud. I have done engineering and have had much education in mechanical labor. this is by far the easiest way to learn.

#3 is how the read arm inside a floppy drive works :) A read arm is moved back and forth over the spinning floppy disk, and a long stepper screw is used to position it in place

Number 4 reminds me of the punching arms. My kids will use this for Lego robot weapons. Love it!!!

Yes, definitely share; it fun to watch machines at work… even if they are just toys.

Very cool. I have a few questions for the channel: 1. Do you have any major goals regarding this channel / potentially more channels 2. What is your thoughts on doing a face reveal 3. Why do you make videos 4. What do you want to accomplish with your videos
@in1
@in1 10 ай бұрын
1. No, not really, I'm kinda surprised how it worked out, but I'm just happy with sharing my projects with the world and discussing them in the comments :) 2. Probably not until I hit a million or something 3. See 1) 4. See 1) :)

Any ideas for car door latch mechanisms? From old style push in, to lift or pull etc?
@in1
@in1 10 ай бұрын
I guess the only thing you need is to pull an axle (=bolt), which can prolly work with many of these mechanisms
@mrmansir3734
@mrmansir3734 6 ай бұрын
i liked number 1 because of its compactness, but I need to combine more gear worm drills together to make the axle travel farther. But combining the gear worm drills isnt very consistent for me and they end up moving slightly out of place.

Hello, your videos are great. I'm watching this one for about the fifth time! I think it's very helpful because I'm trying to engineer something and after a few days of playing with parts and trying stuff I'm getting close. I think a mashup of multiple techniques is the trick now. I bought two copies of the modular space station set. With the airlock pieces and the big ring. I put one together and I simply don't like it. A friend suggested I make something else and I would like to make something I dysee anyone else doing. Ways to describe the basic shape is an expanding cylinder or variable diameter cylinder. A place where you can see what I want to make is episode four, season two of Star Trek Enterprise "Dead Stop". After finding a Mine field the previous episode they need repair and find an automatic station with a space dock, cylindrical in shape. But it starts small and expands to fit the ship. So, take it as a video Idea if you want. But I'd like some help building a cylinder or cup shaped dock that expands on the diameter but nowhere else. Other ideas include a way to make it expand on both length and diameter because this tip on expansion makes me think expanding the length would be easier than the other two Help me!
