Congratulations it's a beautiful house. I am just concerned abt the toilet and the borehole and soakaway being so close together are you not worried abt contamination of ur underground water? I grew up in a house in the city with a borehole and a septic tank the septic tank is placed far from the borehole. There is no soakaway as such but some reeds around the tank could be described as the soakaway. this house was build during Rhodesia days. Next to the septic tank they planted reeds. The grey water from showers and kitchen has its own tank underground the grey water is recycled to water the orchard. This helps the septic tank doesn't fill up too quickly. When the tank is full I think its best to get a sewer company to empty the tank than to have it spill over into the soakaway. Also a gud idea to have the borehole water tested periodically for your safety for ecoli etc in our community over the years things deteriorated people jus let septic tanks spill over the result ....flies lots of them....and no one is confident of the quality of their borehole water anymore we now boil it. BCC used to do water testing for borehole owners in the city am not sure abt other councils.. Also I would advise that you put really gud gutters on ur roof and jojo tanks on the corners for rain water harvesting this way ur underground water won't get depleted quickly.....if you going to put animals and a garden you will need all the water u can get including recycling grey water.

I absolutely love your comment and all the tips you have shared. Definitely getting the water tested is important I think people assume that just because it’s underground water it’s free from contaminants. The soakaway is a distance from the house and there is some distance between the borehole and septic tank. The well is not directly under the Jojo tank stand it’s on the side.

Hi Mai Zuruvi,can you please share if you have property in UK and what you are going to do with it, following the same path in a couple of years as well
@TheTandisLivingtheGoodLife8 ай бұрын
That’s a good question and the short answer is at the moment NO we don’t own a property in the UK. We are going to explain some things in a separate video so please subscribe 🙂

Isnt the toilet too close to the borehole?
@Namib-m5s8 ай бұрын
I thought the same, septic tank too close to the borehole but overally it's all good. The civil works on the septic tank are very good. I am copying from these guys, I am building near Moleli High school as well.
