This story made me angry. I think it is inexcusable when parents refuse to believe their children, especially when the kids are obviously terrified. This couple wouldn't even listen to the babysitter! OK, I guess I'm finished venting. On a lighter note, your Wookie impression is spot on. Perfect. Keep up the awesome stories, and of course, keep hiking.

Really good story, parents probably knew or had heard something before. I just can't figure why people even in the woods, like where I live, don't pull their curtains or blinds at night. If that had been me I would have been closing every curtain in the place. I hate having people being able to look in at night but you can't see out, lol.!

Hi Chris! I knew a fellow who planted trees in Oregan. He would often camp for weeks working solo up in the mountains. One time he set up camp next to a creek, & while sitting out by the fire cooking his dinner he started to smell something really unpleasant. The next thing that happened was a HUGE bipedal creature/Bigfoot walked past along the creek, & just kept going. Even though the Bigfoot never bothered him, he was still terrified & left the next day. This happened over 50 yrs ago, & I have no doubt he was telling the truth!!!

Truly terrifying 😳 Great story and so sad the child wasn't believed by the parents. Apparently it probably took their own encounter to get them to react which is likely why they moved away. Never mind their child is probably traumatized for life.

I would say that the parents know and are in denial. That's why they moved. They just don't want to talk about it as real to anyone openly so that they aren't ostracized and ect. Still terrible to deal with it that way and to gaslight your own son and babysitter. But it wouldn't be that way if we didn't make fun of people who experience these type of incidents. If you don't keep it to yourself then people want you committed or something. What's crazier than these encounters are the ways that we treat the people who actually go through them.

I babysat a lot as a teenager and had weird stuff happen in the home after dark....never failed.....I eventually stopped babysitting all together because no one believed me or the kids and what we told them!! Thank goodness it was NOT as bad as this but scary all the same! I feel bad for this child tho.....he KNEW what he saw and this had to be traumatic for him! I saw a UFO up close for a span of about 5 mins following me and my parents car when I was about 7 and I couldn't even get them to look back to where it was tailing our car.... Drives me nuts in these stories when parents don't take their child or children or in cases like this, the person they entrusted the safety of their child to seriously. This is probably the most terrifying story yet. I could feel the fear the kids must have felt. I babysat, one time, for a family who live in this old farm house. On Halloween no less. The property was in a very flat part of Ohio. A few hundred yards to the right of the farmhouse was a train track, which just always creeped me out. It was pitch black out, the kitchen had a huge picture window over the kitchen sink that looked out over the back yard/barn yard. They had no blinds, so anything or anyone could see in, but we could not see out. At one point something hit the window. I was so scared that I wanted to run to make sure the door was locked but I froze. I was shaking. So I told myself and the kids it was probably a bird or a bat that flew into the window. Maybe it was. But it was terrifying.

Chilling to say the least. Chris you really know how to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and send chills down my spine. The eerie music and sounds you add to your narration just complete the experience. I know you probably listen to podcasts like Sasquatch Chronicles to hear of encounter stories and further educate yourself on these creatures that are absolutely real and roaming out there, but I came across another pretty interesting podcast that was pretty long (2 hours) that had me sitting on the edge of my seat about an experience a elk hunter had with these creatures and wood knocking. More like explosive sounds these creatures can make with wood knocking. The power they possess to smash wood against wood so hard, that it made this Hunter immediately turn the opposite direction and slowly and carefully try to exit the area, but not to fast to cause the predatory reaction these creatures might take on to pursue him. The outright shock and horror he was feeling when he got back to his camp and how at that moment he said after 40 years of hunting and loving the outdoors, he was done and felt he wanted to quit hunting and never go into the woods on his own again. Quite the nail biter of a encounter. Show is called Sasquatch Theory and the podcast was called The Ambush Site. Here’s the link. Hope KZbin allows this link I’m leaving to appear. Sit back, grab one of your amazing beers, and enjoy the ride of this man’s frightening experience when it comes to the wood knocking behaviour’s of these Bigfoot creatures and how curiosity can definitely get you into trouble. Hope you and some of the audience will listen to this chilling account. kzbin.info/www/bejne/maDRiKOQf7Kafbs

Definitely frightening. But I have to wonder if the creature wasn’t trying to scare them but just make some kind of clumsy communication. After I messed myself I’m sure I would have fainted dead away but in hindsight the Bigfoot 👣 didn’t seem threatening. He could have thrown a rock 🪨 through the window or screamed next to the house 🏡. But yes I too would have been terrified. And really angry that the police treated them so badly. Good story. 👍☮️🌞🏡🌲👣

Thank Chris, I loved this story, and I believe there have been many unexplained and often undiscussed storys of a similar nature. Those girls and Andy were lucky to escape. I wonder what might have happened if the Police hadnt turned up. Thank You once again. Keep hiking. ❤🇦🇺🦘

Great story again Chris! I would love to see more videos of you cooking and hiking in the backcountry especially in the Carson Ice-Berg Wilderness and Carson Pass areas. Your old stories is what really got me hooked on your channel. That windy night on Carson Pass and your trip into Pacific Creek Valley are my favorites! There's some really sasquatchy encounters in the Markleeville back country too! Check lout Meiss Meadows when you have a chance also!!

I think the parents knew what was going on and didn't want to admit it to their son or to the police....they must of heard it and saw it..they had to of.. I feel for this boy and the babysitter and her friend...its truly sad when the police always thinks that the babysitter is either drinking or making up things... I believe them and seen alot of things living in Washington State... And then to find out they moved... Loved this Story...Thanks for Sharing, Chris!!!
