What a super young organist! Already comfortable with the pedals and 4-part hymns - NOT a small accomplishment! Definitely gifted! I love the curiosity, creativity, energy - and most of all - the fun! Keep it up - and keep having fun (the BEST playing comes when you're having fun ;-)

Wow! I love this kid. I didn't know that organ shoes came in such a small size. Great pedal technique.

Haha, that's right! Actually, they don't! We modified a pair of tap shoes for his purposes! Thanks for the kind comment!

I too started playing the organ at eight years old (and STILL wishing that I took piano lessons from my dad and piano/organ lessons from my choirmaster as I'd be a far better musician and organist today) and coincidentally, also on an Austin Organ like this one (III/50) with the exact same stop tablet console. Mom must also be an organist as she knew to ask "how many ranks?" good job mom! Bravo to him, and keep up the great work (he's already mastered his pedal technique) study long and thoroughly (as he has an incredibly bright career ahead of him) so that you don't end up still being an AMATEUR Organist like me at sixty-three years old. Please post his progression as I'd like to follow it, he'll be brilliant!

Thanks! I'll pass on the compliments to our little guy. Haha, actually no! I (mom) am not an organist-- I can hold a tune and played piano a few years as a kid. Dad isn't especially musical either. I think that's what makes it so remarkable and his enthusiasm for it is contagious.

Hello and greetings from EWTN main campus in Birmingham Alabama. I am very impressed by your playing and hope you keep practicing the great hymns of the church! Hymns are a lot harder to play than they look, right? My name is Derek and I play the organ and conduct all the different choirs and scholas on EWTN. I wish you many years of exciting organ study and hope you can make a pilgrimage one day to the Shrine or the Chapel of EWTN. I would love to show you the nice 4-manual Viscount organ we just received from a donor in Florida. You would be welcome to play it. God bless you and keep it up!!
