The test of a sacred organist is his containment - knowing the power just beneath his fingertips ! The road you travel is as long and winding as the trip to the organ loft, lad --- You are well on your way

Well done, young sir! It takes greater confidence to face an organ of this size and play it well than would be required to take the wheel of a sports car and return a creditable lap of, say, Nürburgring.

Bravo! I'm an LCMS church musician, and I played this piece 60 years ago at the age of 15 and plan to revisit it next year on our recital series in Colorado Springs. I met Dr. Sam at the Seward conference in July; best wishes for your tenure in St. Louis! Also the videography is stunning: thanks to all who put this together!

Congrats! You’re great! Looking forward to hearing more from you! Keep your study’s and playing going!
What a blessing this young man is!!! Keep at it and you will go far! Organists , sadly, are a dying breed and we must get more young people interested in the greatest musical instrument there is. I started playing in church at age 14; I am now 66 and still 'on the bench'. Nice work, young man!

You play with vitality and bring a crispness to this piece. I like your articulation. The Lord has blessed you with a gift. Enjoy it, but also use it as a vehicle to bring blessings to listeners and others. That will bring you much happiness and fulfillment. There is no better feeling then blessing people with the gift of sacred and classical music and enhancing people's church and worship experience.

Fantastic job, young maestro. You have a supple pedal technique. This is a tough piece which took me quite some time to play well enough to feature it. You go by Little Musical Fingers, great choice of moniker, LOL. For someone of your age and height, you actually have a good reach and stretch on the manuals. Have you played for a church service yet? You have a lot of talent and musicality.
@littlemusicalfingersАй бұрын
Thanks for your kindness! Yes, he has started playing for services as well. He can't get enough of it! :)

@@littlemusicalfingers I am a retired elementary school teacher who spent my career teaching 4th and 5th grades. I absolutely loved it when any of my students played and were passionate with their piano performance. I encouraged a few to learn organ as it would increase their musical opportunities when they got older. Playing one service a week plus maybe a choir rehearsal can be a wonderful 'job' for a young person. One that not only beats flipping burgers, but one that can enrich his life and bless others while glorifying God, too. As an organist myself, though I am not blessed with Virgil Fox talent, there is not much I enjoy more than congregants thanking me for my music or enjoying a prelude or postlude. I know he is young, but it is never too early to join the American Guild of Organists. He is blessed with prodigy-level talent. The fact that he enjoys it must be a blessing and a joy for you. I applaud your commitment, too.
