Sadly that isn’t the reality for many of us, then the real learning begins, if one can remain mindful whilst undertaking tasks tasks we don’t want to engage in a sense of accomplishment & purpose can still be achieved. But that can only be achieved if we focus on now. X

I stumbled across you while having a look around for information on Tai Chi and finding Master Gu's webpage. Even though I plan to begin the art of Tai Chi later in life, meditation, breath control, connection and mastering of the mind are fundamental to most, if not all, martial arts. And also to everyday life. I am here, as a practitioner of Taekwon-do and Hapkido, engineer and father of one, to understand more about the benefits and practice of the principles in your course. I hope this will make me calmer, and more ready to tackle the emotional challenges I am facing as a father of a now 10 month old boy. I am being held back by my own mind and a growing list of things to get done. This stress makes me stop dead in my tracks and do nothing. I am also looking to deepen my understanding of the martial arts I practice using your principles. I have much to learn, even after 7-8 years of training, and I realised pretty quickly that I don't know much. This is what makes your course and martial arts exciting. The learning never stops, and the benefits are far reaching. Thank you George.

I am a Hindu Brahmin. I have been meditating for my entire life 2-3 times a day as is customary. We use mantras as our anchor, emotions and visualisations to strengthen it. This video is very useful. I sometimes find it difficult to bring my deity to mind depending on how intense the task is at hand. The breath and body scan as the anchor was so simple, instantaneous and unwavering. I will be able to incorporate it in my daily life more easily. Thank you 🙏

I'm thankful for coming upon this course...I am a dedicated Christian, who loves this video. I think Taoism (Daoism) and the ways of Christ are similar. I am interested in learning more about Daoism, and its precepts, and teachings. I think I can relate to it because I know Christianity so deeply, that this doesn't seem to extreme or radical for me! 👍

Daoism predates Jesus so maybe Jesus wrapped it into his teachings?

@@Robert-the-atheist I feel the Lord expressed Himself not only through Judaism, which predates or at least co-dates Daoism, but also through Daoism, and other religions at the time. He did not leave us without a guide, which is His word!

🙏so much to reflect on! The idea to embody empowering truths to re-member sticks with me. To come back and embrace the present moment - including all experiences, is really helpful. "I can be with this, that is happening right now" I hope that I can serve through being present in my body and present for others in a way that balances our energies. Practising anchoring to my feet or breath throughout the day is a great reminder, and helps me let go of tension including seeing those pesky sticky thoughts as just thoughts. Connecting to something bigger, reminds me to cherish my nature. So much more to reflect on. It's really supportive to have the additional resources and time-stamps, making it a pleasure to watch again. I found that inspirational. 🌱💟☯🌳 Thank you George and team.🙏🌍💚

Great videos and progress over past 7 years. It makes me think, why is so difficult to be pathfinder for me. I ve been on the journey for bit longer, and found and tried yoga as first accessible path, then I learnt about Buddhist path and Daoist way, and some other teachings or practices. It boils down to how much time one can dedicate. When I had no job, I had more time to explore and practice. It can help to be able have more time just for spiritual practice. The way world opperates now, its killing that aspect and possibility.

I too, learned TM - 31 years ago! I also would immerse myself in it & find myself drifting away and after years sometimes, getting to a point where I was inspired to start again. 49:40 1/2; it takes a while but after years of practice and esp. depending on your daily routines you can be pretty "empty". Sometimes I manage to be without thoughts for 2-3minutes. Well, certainly there are masters who are "thoughtless" for many more minutes but as you stated, it's not about that. That'll only be rude to yourself if you'd expected this to be.

This is great, thank you. But how can we apply these techniques when your present moment is filled with chronic pain and suffering. It’s hard to be present when you are in so much pain whether that is nausea and dizziness or severe physical pain where you feel sick to your stomachnaturally as a human I feel you want to avoid that present moment and distract yourself as best as possible, so I am curious as to how to overcome that and sit with these discomforting feelings.
@George-ThompsonАй бұрын
I'm sorry to hear about the pain that you are in, that's a lot for you to work with. Explore the possibility that the same two core questions apply: 1) what is happening inside of me? 2) can I be with this? If there's pain that feels too much to be with, can you be with that part of you that finds it too much? it's compassion either way - if you can be with the pain or if you can't. What meditation can help with is our reaction to the pain. The pain may still be there, but at least we don't multiply it with thoughts of "i should be able to handle this". Hope that helps. Best, George

With all due respect George, you are only a beginner and have not learned the actual real knowledge. Just because some of your videos in China went viral a few years back doesn't mean you are a teacher. You should remain a student for a long time before positioning yourself to be a teacher. A lot of the things you share a pretty generic. Why not show what you are studying and learning to show some honest humility?
