I been watching your channel and I love when someone takes the time to completely restore a truck the right way well some it’s coming along will be a very nice truck when your done with it
@mossman381Ай бұрын
Thanks, it takes more time and money to do it this way, but you get a way better truck in the end. We did dads 70 Camaro the same way.

The big advantage of the twin stick is if you break a u-joint or one of your differentials while off-roading. I've seen people break a rear u-joint on a rock and shift the truck into neutral and engage the front and drive home in front wheel drive. You would have to drive your truck on some pretty rough roads to need that capability though. I did some off-roading in a 2002 Silverado in Utah and the only problem I had was overheating because I was using my air conditioning.

I don't plan on doing extreme off roading. I think it's a cool mod for an old truck.

I’m about ready to put these on my NP205. I also have a re-built th350 I just bought a genie shifter for as well. I hope one day to restore my truck as well as you’re doing. Awesome video thanks!

You are welcome. It takes time and money to completely restore something. I have time but the money part isn't so easy for me.

Very nice. Could you educate me on why you would use twin sticks where you would limit control to only the front or rear wheels? Thanks!
@mossman381Ай бұрын
@@jewllake It's really an off-road type mod. One reason I wanted to do it was because I have never done it. The whole truck has kind of an off-road feel to it. My original 4wd handle has the chrome peeling. Like I said it's more of an off-road mod. You can control your front and rear axles separately. One mode a person might use is low range rear wheel drive. You can creep along very slowly and not have your front axle engaged. One mode for off-road would be to engage the front axle only to help rotate around something. It's called a front dig.

Anything other than a th400 for 205 twin stick setup is diabolical… you’ll cook that transmission before the gear box
@mossman381Ай бұрын
This is a rebuilt th350 from TCI. It is built to handle 500hp. From what I understand they use th400 parts in the th350. Not really worried about overheating it. More worried about the rebuild quality.
@Hunter-dv1quАй бұрын
@@mossman381 you shoulda just went with a th400… no such thing as beefing up a th350… it’s a marketing tactic dog… 1000hp drag cars run th400s

You got 2.5 inch lift what size tires are you going with??
@mossman3816 күн бұрын
33x12.50, just like I did on my 70 Chevy truck. Should be almost the same setup just different body. You can check out the videos on that truck if you want to see it.
