You sound more excited about life than another video I saw earlier of you reading a book, where you sounded really sad. I have been really sad, too. I am an collector and overspender and am have been changing my ways. There is an anxious feeling just mentioning that. I've made some headway, with help from family, and want to keep my space nice forever now! Thank you so much for the tips and encouragement to not get too upset or rushed as I do my clothes closet.

❤agree that it’s exhausting to declutter and always challenging to decide between seemingly similar pieces

Sometimes, it helped me to remember my laziness and just keep the one that doesn't need ironing 😊

I have been trying to simplify for what seems like forever and getting nowhere. This was beautifully presented, very informative and encouraging. You provided a much-needed sense of calm to the process. Thank you.

Taking my time and not stressing about it had the effect that it was a much more sustainable transformation in the end without the relapses that I had before. Sustainable change always takes time, and it's ok to have your own pace. Enjoy your journey, celebrate the small victories, and take it easy. ❤️

I like the approach of limiting your clothes to one closet rod and set of drawers. I'm going to try that myself 🙂, thanks for the motivation!

@@lisipilzok. Well, I haven’t started yet. But I have a week off now and this is high on my list! I definitely plan to put my off season clothes in a storage box, that will help right there. I plan to put the clothes in categories as I sort through them. Stay tuned!

@@lisipilz OK, checking back in. I did not put the off season clothes in a storage box - I put them in a closet in a different room, does that count LOL. I did find putting the clothes in categories to be super helpful!! I did manage to pare down enough to fit in one closet each (per season, cool weather and warm weather) which seems like a success to me. I had 3 closets previously with everything mixed in together. My drawers still can stand to be weeded out but that is for another day.

Hi @brickyardcove! So sorry for the delayed reply, but I’m so happy to hear from you! Absolutely, using a closet in a different room totally counts - you found a solution that works for you, and that’s what matters! I’m really impressed by how you categorized your clothes and managed to pare them down. Going from 3 closets to one per season is a huge win! It sounds like you're making great progress, and I love how you're approaching it step by step. The drawers can wait, and when you're ready, you’ll tackle that too. My humble opinion is that you're doing amazing - keep going!👍❤️💪

New subscriber as I love clean and declutter videos. I loved that you've shown that bag of clothes that arn't in enough good condition to donate at 3:27 but as it's the thing I struggle the most in declutter to discard old clothes that can't be donated in the trash, I'm just a bit sad that you've only filmed 1 second of it as now that you've got rid of so much, you'll probably won't ever need to toss that much 🥲 I hope that even if it's not as much, that you could film while discarding some when it's needed. Even more if it's directly in a real trash can as I also put them in clean bags, but as there's no real trash in the bag, I keep it in the garage instead of dumping it 🤭

Welcome! 🤗 Thank you so much for subscribing and for your thoughtful comment! I totally understand how tough it is to part with clothes that can’t be donated. I actually repurpose some of them for cleaning, and for the rest, I’m fortunate to have a recycling facility nearby, so they don’t end up in the trash. I appreciate your feedback and will definitely try to include more of those moments in future videos. 😊

Thank you this is much more doable. My goal is to curate from what I already have and donate 50 percent from each category - slacks - blouses etc. thanks ⭐️

Humid summer 2024, I regret decluttering my linen dress. 😢
@lisipilz3 ай бұрын
I completely understand that feeling! It’s tough when we realize later that an item would’ve been perfect. Sometimes, decluttering teaches us what we truly value, even if it means a little trial and error. Maybe you can keep an eye out for a similar piece second-hand, or even see if a friend has something similar they’d be willing to swap. Thank you for sharing your experience-it’s a great reminder that decluttering is a journey, and it’s okay to have a few regrets along the way. 😊
