Excellent! thank you for this, watched it before I replaced my mounts. Took and hour and a half.... even so, I wouldn't want to do it again for a while! I'd have been stuck without this excellent advice. Thankyou

OK but how do you fit the rubber bushes into the butterfly thing?!

Maybe to add another advice: do not tighten the bolts pulling the separate piece on the mountings towards the crossmember (downwards) straightaway. First assure that the bolts in the gearbox itself are surely tightened and the nuts on the rubber mountings too. Then fix the crossmember to the car. And as a last step then tighten the bolts mentioned above. The advice in the Haynes manual to remove and put back the whole assembly over the mounts fixed beforehand to the gearbox, just does NOT work.

Have a 72, didn’t have any of the rods. Is that correct? you didn’t discuss the 70-74 rods.

Not convinced the mounts go through the rear holes for the late model cars. Mine were mounted forward, but tried replacing them in the rear holes as the video suggests. Crossmember wouldn't mount to the car. BUGGER, will try again tomorrow with the mounts as they were in the front holes.
