Bad gong joke follows: One of my friends in the service was in the Army Band. Army Bands play all kinds of music, including classical. When a new troop shows up who doesn't play a symphonic instrument, said troop gets assigned to the percussion section. Troops who didn't play symphonic instruments never saw symphonic sheet music before, and don't know all the special notation in it. There's a notation "G.P." in classical scores. It really means "grand pause" - the entire orchestra falls silent. But when these poor kids took a score to the Old Man of the Orchestra..."that means 'gong part.' When you reach it, play the gong as hard as you can."

@@buwumet depends on the setting... as in a jazz band might call some terms by slightly different verbiage than per say a symphonic orchestra but generally the same meaning...I think. However I may be wrong

from what I've seen here on Youtey, this guy is just smackin' and hammerin' on the gong, there are others that respect the Gong, coaxing the vibrations, allowing the Gong to sing, making the Gong the focus the other 'masters' ability shows me how a line of these would be a formidable weapon, infra-sonic waves holding off aggressors

I have to give it to Paiste, they have a great product. I absolutely love the Signature line. When I got back into drumming I really wanted to get my Signatures back. I decided to go with the PST8s. I really never liked cymbal packs, but I was amazed at how great they sound when I recorded them. Every few months I try talk myself into the Signatures, but when I listen to my recording, I just can't justify the cost. Give a listen! @
