If I were able, I'd give you a big hug and a kiss for uploading these. I had this exact same broadcast (with a few exceptions in commercials, since I was in the Washington, DC market) on a tape, but stupid me taped over everything that was on it, and I'm kicking myself for it.

Both of these specials are favorites of mine. Thank you for that Pryor's Place ad. I've been going BANANAS trying to convice my sister we DID have it on one of our old tapes (we had Rudolph, Frosty, and 'Twas the Night all on one old VHS, which has long since been taped over)

This was good just for the Technical Difficulties card. Modern TV doesn't have enough of those these days (sadly!) I also had the CBS Christmas specials from 1984 also on tape from WCBS New York but 1) My folks didn't tape the breaks and 2) The tape got lost :( I had that Colgate Pump ad on a 1985 airing of Bon Voyage Charlie Brown on CBS! PRYOR'S PLACE! EPIC! I remember it, and it only lasted like a season.

While the McDonald's commercial is a definitive Christmas commercial (which I forgot about until now) you also have to include the Folger's commercial when the son comes home from college.

@blugreen123 "Pryor's Place" was a show for kids...basically Richard Pryor's version of "Sesame Street" that tackled tougher issues (and without using any profanity!). It didn't last long.
