Great set of commercials! Very good quality, well preserved. These prime-time commercials really capture the essence of 1987.

I love how the Albertsons' logo hasn't changed one bit since this commercial aired in 1987. One of my favorite go-to supermarkets around & since this NBC affiliate is in LA, people in SoCal should know exactly what I'm talking about :)

The Michelob ad features the song "To Live And Die In L.A." by Wang Chung. This was the title song for the soundtrack to the 1985 film. The single just missed the top 40- peaking at #41. I never knew it was also used for TV advertising.

For many years I remembered that commercial and thought the song was just something made for the commercial, until I saw "To Live and Die in L.A." about ten or so years ago.

Again I say Jakes M.O. would have been a neat series. At least we get the commercials from it.

DanZero77 They DID give it a good time slot for an unsold pilot. I mean I know that was reserved for L.A. Law, but I wouldn’t have minded seeing later episodes at different time slots if they had decided to keep it.

Jlord37 Don played for the Dallas Cowboys. Afterwards, he went into acting. He starred in a number of episodes, of "Police Story"., and he starred in Lipton Tea commercials, where he would take a sip and say "Dandy! ". During his football career, he was known, as, "Dandy Don".

@ 3:30 Actress Allyn Ann McLerie who played the character Molly Dodd's mother on the sitcom "The Days And Nights Of Molly Dodd" for five seasons died this past May at the age of 91. I only mention this because I loved her role in the movie "Calamity Jane" (starring Doris Day)

"TV Spot for "Stakeout" (For some reason I always thought this was from the early 90's)" - You were probably thinking of the largely forgotten sequel, Another Stakeout.
