It's sad that the world isn't like this anymore.

I remember those N'Ice lozenges being effective at healing sore throats, but not so "N'Ice " when it came to the flavor. That kid in the Campbell Soup Commercial is pretty creative in using the Alphabet Soup to predict his next report card.

Oh, man Freddy's Nightmares. I remember the one where Freddy gases the high school reunion or he stab his prom date because she stood him up. I wish they would be a DVD. I would buy them in a heartbeat.

Those shows legit creeped me out. Especially Friday the 13th. But kinda love them. Hah.

I swear that music in the 1-976-BEST commercial was used in a commercial for some kind of kids-related product that could be ordered by phone or something.

The guy who said "Pontiac Grand Prix" in the Burger King ad reminded me of the commercial for a Pontiac Grand Prix in Vol. 236! Weren't horror anthology series in the 80s the best? Friday the 13th, Freddy's Nightmares, the Twilight Zone revival, Ray Bradbury Theater, Alfred Hitchcock Presents?

Also, "Monsters." That show pops up on streaming from time to time.

The start of that organ commercial made me do a double take. I didn’t think they were talking about keyboards at first.

I have my doubts that 1-976-BEST truly was the best. After all, 1-976-DATE can make a woman materialize behind you. And 1-976-8888 will suddenly make two women appear, and start dancing in front of you. What can BEST do? Nothing, according to that commercial. Too bad we didn't get to see what LIVE could do.

Vivarin=these pills literally just contain caffeine. Totally sleazy, cheesy music in the 1-976 commercial.

Raisinets-kind of looked like the opening to a sitcom Colgate Tartar Control-"Plaque on..plaque off." 1-976-DATE-..and get catfished Crimes Of Violence-that first guy deserves to be there for that stabbing Great Starts-a real breakfast..with powdered scrambled eggs The Accused-that scene was very,very unsettling America's Most Wanted-wonder if they ever caught him.. Friday The 13th The Series-i remember reading that there was going to be a connection of sorts to the films in a later season..one of the cursed antiques would have been Jason Voorhees's hockey mask Freddy's Nightmares-loved that Freddy was not only the host,but also appeared in some of the episodes on occasion Halloween 4-thanks to studio meddling,H5 didnt pick up where this one wouldve left off(with the implication that Jamie would be a copycat Michael Myers) 1-976-BEST-Better than all the rest..?

They did get him, but not before he murdered two other people. He was given the death penalty but he was resentenced to two life sentences without the chance for parole in 2006.

I'm surprised they didn't list the charges on that 1-976-DATE line. I thought they were required to list them? I think Oregon is still the biggest Subaru market in the USA. Burger King never hit my radar until the 99¢ Whopper became regularly available. Kids used to be made fun of wearing shoes from Volume Shoe Source. They were terrible! Today they're known as Payless Shoes. That was an uncharacteristically sedate commercial from Tom Peterson's! Usually he was more in-your-face with his bargains. "If a man who you've never met before, suddenly gives you flowers, douse his eyes in pepper spray!" Both "Friday the 13th" and "Freddy's Nightmares" were pretty scary shows, and of course us kids loved them! Boy, those Listermint guys had their pun thesaurus doing overtime with that ad! Hahaha! "R.M. Dietz! R.M. Dietz!" Hollywood Costumes was a great place to buy Halloween costumes! I got a Darth Vader mask that I used for years, it was awesome. "Rentown U-S-A!" Oh my God it's been at least 30 years since I heard that! I noticed that Total lost their gimmick once they changed the food labels not to emphasize vitamin content. Great volume here, thanks for the memories!

So did volume shoe source combine with Payless or just become Payless shoe source?
@80sCommercialVault
@80sCommercialVault 4 жыл бұрын
Volume and Payless were owned by the same parent company (Volume Shoe Co.) and operated stores under both the Volume and Payless names during this time. In 1991 the company changed its name to Payless ShoeSource Inc. and all stores were converted to the Payless name.

The Deitz gommercial is badly shot. It looks so much like someone's first time using a video camera. A bunch of clipped faces and even the main guy gets the left ear clipped.
