Sooner or later someone HAS to make a "Best Of" compilation of those incredible 80's Nissan spots with those dancer and sax players. I mean even in the 80's this must have been considered "too much".

0:13--This was several years after the cyanide scare, and it looks like Tylenol capsules had been axed and replaced with "caplets" (capsule-shaped tablets). 2:22--Recently Doritos have used a similar retro bag design for their Taco flavor chips. I wish they'd do that with Cool Ranch, which is my favorite flavor. 2:52--I love that "Cheese, glorious cheese" jingle! It is based on the song "Food, Glorious Food" from the musical "Oliver!" 3:53--Let's see who's moonlighting to get "Moonlighting" back on the air? Hmmm...I'm not sure I understand what's going on here. 6:18--The "Angel Heart" promo features a "heartbeat" sound effect--followed by a Chevrolet "The Heartbeat Of America" spot at 6:48. Do I detect some sort of theme going on here?

Wow...Moonlighting actually aired a new episode that night! I'm sure Goya appreciated his paintings being compared to cat food. It's been a while since I've seen Lethal Weapon. I had no idea it was a documentary. :p I'm most amused by the dancing cop in the Nissan ad. You'd think after City Heat, Burt would avoid doing films with similar titles. At any rate, I'll wait for the DeNiro/Pacino version. Bruce Willis fancied himself a singer back then. He even released an album.

I got some tapes from a yard sale the other day and half way through one of them I got this strange deja vu feeling, until I remembered that everything I was watching I had already seen right here. Almost every commercial in the exact same order, even with the same crazy "Next On Moonlighting" promo. I thought I ended up with your tape for a second :) Your videos are local to me,and I bought my tapes in the Bay, but they were recorded in SoCal, local to my husband. Just felt like sharing, heh :)

Classic! Why were saxophones so popular inthe 80's???

Something we don't see these days - (Show) sponsored by and rapid clips of what the next episode is that don't make sense are 2 of them I also have 2 Nissan ads from 1987 on ABC that are near identical to that one, Jay Leno is a sellout, Miyagi Ohara didn't tell everyone to wax on wax off as he arrested them, Diet Coke has never been so BORING, never heard of Jack And Mike, our much maligned friend Burt "Ferguson" throwing razor blades and I swear Bruce was singing Yippe Ki Yay at 9:32! Whew!
