That was like a trip through my own record collection. I used to pick up hundreds of 80s titles at Moby Disc on Ventura Blvd. in L.A. for a buck. Sometimes as low as 10 cents. Those were the glory days of record buying.

Yeah.. for me, the deals are still here in Reno ! I still pick up records for 1.00 thrifting and lately .. 3 Blondie Japanese 7" sealed for 6.00 each.. They are valuable. I end up meeting folks who want to sell. Cool to hear about Ventura Blvd and Moby Disc. We will be in LA on Friday night ! Thanks for watching 👍

That’s an epic 80s box JT! What a tragedy to lose Karl so young. He is one of my favorite songwriters along with Mike Scott. I was in awe of the New Order and World Party groupings! You are very fortunate to have such beautiful OG copies of those titles. They are absolute treasures! Back in 1986 I can still remember blowing up my ears with a $5,000.00 car audio system cranking Gene Loves Jezebel’s Desire! lol. 80s music holds such great memories! Thanks for sharing your great grabs!

Thank you, Steve ! I started these two boxes with 80's synth, and it has grown throughout my collecting ! I like to put bands side by side somewhat randomly, although, this year I should alphabetize.. well see ! We might go back to Randy's doughnuts again on Saturday.. Sean wants to film it for his channel.. "Let's Travel With Sean". He is the one that got me started video making 4 years ago. I do love 80's music, and of course bands like REM The Replacements, The Pixies The Cure Talking Heads Devo.. On and on !

Hey JT, another fun video! Your Bananarama collection triggered some memories. Around 1989, I was working at a talent booking agency and Bananarama was a client. On one particular day, they made an announcement over the PA that there were free BR tickets to see them at the Universal Amphitheater. So I ended up going on a date with one of the assistants in the office to see that show. Not one of my favorite concerts by any means but she wanted to see them so I did it for her😊

Nice memory.. and seeing artists that we usually wouldn't care to see is good for the musical soul ! At the time.. I didn't really care for them, although "Venus" was a pretty catchy cover ! I think I just like having this history, and I do like 80's dance / pop more now than back in the day ! Thanks, Scott

All of those albums look minty. Beautiful New Order titles. I wish I had Stars on vinyl. I love the OMD covers as well. This video serves as a reminder of just how many great bands there were from the 80s. Sade‘s music soothes my soul. I ❤ this, Jt! The 80 is my jam. Major Tom by Peter Schilling is a favorite I loved the Soul II Soul album. 18 years old when this was released. UK copy of The Hurting by Tears For Fears! Jt, I'm a big fan of 12" Singles and you've got some killers. I like how you're one of the few VC who can go from Sinatra to hip hop and everything in between. Eclectic is the best way to be I think. The Icehouse album called Flowers is really 80's pop. I love Gen X. Although at the moment I only have a best of and the self titled debut. I've been looking out of for Valley Of The Dolls & Kiss Me Deadly to complete the catalogue. New Order another amazing band. I have to check out World Party. I remember the single Ship Of Fools, but I followed The Waterboys instead at the time. I would love a copy of Eat It!! The 80s sure was a diverse decade and much criticised by myself because I grew up in it liking embarrassing pop music but in retrospect the songwriting was top as much as other decades - just some of the fashions hmmmmmmm 😂 Never knew it was just 'Yaz' in the US. Weird Al is known here but for comedy we had alot of our own and much of it put out on vinyl though alot would now be considered inappropriate. Strange to think of maybe I shouldn't be laughing at this anymore like you said we need some light relief but not at others expense (keep it to myself maybe?) You had a nice extra long linger on the singer from bow wow wow there.......
