I hate to be THAT guy but at 3:20 you're doing it wrong ... its actually a slide up with the hand stretched chord (5-8-10 to 7-11-13) for one stroke and then down to the C barre chord

I just watched a video of a guy doing “how not to play lay it down” in standard tuning that sounded much more in tune. Those long stretches probably are causing the pinky to pull a bit. However, your verse is right on and would not sound right if not dropped D
