Hi, I knew a chap ,who had those engines in a Fairline , he had no trouble with them if serviced well , but he said to make sure the water intake filters are cleaned out often and the thermostats . That boat years ago was in Bills yard and was said to over heat , long before Richard took over the yard . Happy boating and would be nice to see it back on the river again .

Yes it had a lot of trouble with the starboard engine overheating in the past (boat came with loads of history) . It had a complete top end rebuild which resolved it. She will be moving to keyhaven, so not far. I will keep it on the water during the summers and keep it at home for winters. Yes I agree, from the research that I have done the engines outdrives are reliable providing they are well maintained. Nice to hear from someone local who knows the boat!

Very nice. I have owned a B220 with Mark 2 sterndrive for 20 plus years with nearly flawless performance. Looks like you are running some Volvo short hub props based on the spacer I can see just ahead of the prop. This is exceptional content.

A fine vessel, a great find - and a nice high spec craft. Don Shead design? I think the XPS25 is handier than the 34, you can get her on a trailer and get her home for maintenance and wintering easier, and less marina berthing and overall costs? The 34 maybe a little sleeker, but personally not so keen on the style of the reverse 'roll-bar' - that's just an opinion! The 25 is a stylish and low-looking boat - and of her era. Keep up the good work. Kind regards.

Hello, you know your Sunseekers! Yes I agree with all of the above (apart from the xps34 forward swept arch 🙂). I'm going to be keeping it on my council mooring in the Solent and can trailer it home for the winter - as close to budget boating as you can get. If I had a 34 it would have to go in a marina and be craned out every year for maintenance, the costs would be an order of magnitude higher for negligible gain. Also I'm happy single handed in a 25ft boat, much bigger might be stressful. If I win the lottery I will buy an XPS 34 and put in a pair of Lamborghini marine V12 engines.

I really need to look into the science behind them anodes. I know what they are and what they do witch I learned when I was a kid but I never looked up or learned how exactly that works.
