A great vid and vehicle. It's great to see someone that has done things without costing heaps and plugging all the different companies. There should be more vids with simple yet effective and cheap mods for most of us that don't have buckets of cash or sponsors. You both are fantastic together, the commentary flowed well and informative also at the same time. Keep up the great work.

If they made an 80 series in 2019 that had a stock V8 turbo diesel and the classic 80 design I'd set out to buy one straight away. There's so many from the mid to late 90s out there but it's hard to get them under 450k kms or in decent condition

Mustve been a small roo to clean up n drive off. I hit one at 100 in a rodeo and it pushed the bull bar onto my front wheels locking them. Smashed front end and drivers side. Couldnt open my door. Glass smashed etc. Found a tooth in my tray that looked like it shoukdve come from a small pig. Southern nsw has big roos though. He was 6ft plus easy 100kgs. If he didnt push the bar onto my wheels I'd have ended up in a 5 ft drop into a running creek in winter. Train style cattle plough the ain't lol. This is one of my fav modified vids. The 80 series is the best 4 by ever made. it took me over 2 years to find one like yours, a 1HD-FT Auto with Nomad valve body plus many other things but not as extensively optioned out as your rig. Like the battery setup, you can power just about anything there.

I love this video because this is how usual off roaders/overlanders look 95% of the time - all dirty, denty, missing loads of pieces (definitely more at the end of the trip :D). I don't trust people who say they are off roaders and their cars are immaculate :)

nice 80 Harry, I had a GXL the last model 80 Toyota built, loved it and solid axle, with your light bar lower it closer to the roof of the 80. Great interview, clearly great mates and very comfortable together doing the segment, 10/10 lads!Harry, it’s encouraging to see you aren’t afraid to buy budget gear sometimes and get good results, shame about the tyre tho, I’ve got a KM2 casing with 80% tread if you want it, free! It’s excess to my needs and taking up space in the shed. Where did you get the food grade stainless, I’d like to change my table surface, very practical idea!

Pacey I'm back. Nice 80. Great modified video Ronny! Its a good one. I've got a 97 80 series. She's cherry and I haven't really modified much. Added a center diff lock switch and a dual battery for my fridge. Cole, have you ever considered free wheeling hubs? I know there a bit pricey but I was thinking less wear and tear on front axle? Not sure if your spare tire hangs down to much; any issues with that? If you bring a 1hd-fte to the states you can visit anytime. Thanks guys!!!
@firetofork7 жыл бұрын
Raymondo Wilson mate! Great to hear you enjoyed my earlier work, such a shame it got cancelled. I had free wheeling hubs on my old 80 and never found it made much difference- my front diff is rebuilt, so it's tight. The spare tyre is only there for really long trips so it's not an issue, airbags will help there too, I have a trailer with matching tyres now so that should fix that issue
