I'm working on one of my larger paintings and show you how I build up these paintings in layers. I love ultramarine blue, but I had added to much of it.

I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I totally enjoy each episode. I am at episode 53 at the moment. I paint with acrylic and I have been trying to loosen my style. Although you use a different medium, watching you is helping me to get my brush moving and let go. Also using diluted layers made a big difference. Thank you for taking the time to create, edit and post these videos.

Congratulations Titus, your videos are also a good piece of art, I have been watching them for a while and this one seems especially well done to me, The use of silences and white noise is also great.

Dus de vrijdagen zijn nu even voorlopig geen 'vrijdag' meer... Ik zal het missen. Maar een heerlijke rustperiode met je gezin is je van harte gegund.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched your videos, life gets in the way it seems. But it’s good to feel a bit better! I loved seeing your work space to your right when you are working. Mine is somewhat “busy” like yours. When I’m asked about it I just explain that it’s organized chaos 😂! I hope that you’re having a great time away with your family. Maybe if you filmed any you can do what you did last summer and add a bit of your holiday into a video here on KZbin. I still remember your son or maybe it was a daughter and how they created their own art. It was the best! Stay well and safe! 🙏🏼🙌🫶

As I watch I had one of those “oh my gosh” moments in just what are you doing. I’m glad you explained but I’m curious as to how you add light to a dark painting. I’m guessing white with color added. Then my other concern would be how many layers can you add without concern for cracking. You’ve given me ideas on how to resurrect disasters with strategic darks and then add light. Please laugh here - I don’t know what I’m saying. LOL I will give this a try. Thx.

1- I am struggling with perfectionism. So I am wondering if this is the same as overworking an art project. When do you know when you crossed the line from done to overworked and who is judging. Can an art expert see when an art piece has been overworked? 2- Is a personal style the result of the level of skills of the artist or on his level of tolerance on what he is able to achieve. I am at episode 55 of your series on KZbin and enjoying every minute of it.

Can you do a video explaining your thought process on gouache painting on watercolor since they are the same type of paint. Also, do you prefer one over the other?

I'm fascinated by your mark making not only in your watercolor paintings, but also when you work in oils during the portraits with other artists series of videos. It's so decisive, and results in parts of your painting leaping off the surface. It's so beautiful. When you are adding the marks of light on a tree or shadow under an arch, for example, are you thinking of the pure shape before putting the brush to the surface or something else? Bedankt!

Thank you Susannah. I’m not thinking about a shape. It’s only about watching. Seeing and painting = discovering!
