At 0:24 there is a calendar shown from The New Britain Lumber Company, New Britain, Connecticut as well as an ad from Liberty Baking Co., which is where I was born, raised and am writing this post from. The Park Street address is only a mere two streets from where I sit. New Britain had a thriving Swedish community, to the extent where they had their own private organization - The Svea Social Club, which still operates today in Berlin, Connecticut. Lesley, I love these adventures you and your crew share with us. Happy New Year!!

In Sweden it is easy to find out who owns a property, so you can ask the owner if you can visit the place. It is common for some doors to be unlocked on houses, in places far from towns and villages. if the key hangs visibly on a nail, you know they are not at home, and if the key is in the door lock, they are nearby. If you enter someone's house, even if it's unlocked, you're committing a crime, even if you're just curious and photographing what you see. You are allowed to walk in the forest, if you stay more than 200m from a house.

It’s urban expiration. Font think any of it is legal unless you get permission but following the laws of UE you show respect and do no harm. It is a way for people to be remembered and not forgotten. You never break in and you take nothing. The best laces will eventually fall down and be forgotten, but this is a way to remember them. If the family doesn’t care now.

This was very interesting to see and listen to as a Swede. Also reading the cruise information letter was cool which is a price list and route list (is that correct word for english?). Its close to the same Swedish as today, but minor differences with spelling with words and lines. Also they mention they had Swedish crew members, classic Swedish food for all classes and medical services. The passengers will also be around a lot of Swedes to comfort the travel. They seem to have taken 3rd class into a better experience with use the deck for walking, nice dining room, lounge and cabins.

Wow Lesley, Sam what an explore. I love this wonderful little place frozen in time. The White Star line information sprung my attention immediately of course to the sinking of the Titanic. Of course, it's common knowledge to see names of individuals who died at sea from the sinking of the Titanic. There is this same name on the list, {the date of his departure doesn't match this man though} but he has a very common name it seems. So, who can say if it is any kinship to him. Thank you for always exploring these wonderful places with the greatest of respect for the owners. I love the Swedish homes I can say that it must had been viscously cold there in the winter of course and not an easy life but yet that is what they were used to, and they knew what it took to live in this place very resilient people. Thank you for showing us this lovely place and the history of how life was in such times.

Very interesting. I found letters from my great aunt on stationery from the White Star Line Adriatic. The letters dated in the 1930s. I loved what you found! Why is no one smiling in any of the old pictures? I guess I wouldn’t smile either if I didn’t have a bathroom to use. Love watching!❤
