i would say they are more reproductions of the originals. The staples on the booklet were still shiny with no rust what so ever and the pages are still bone white. All of that would have aged over 80 something years. Someone maintains this house because its far too clean to just be out in the woods abandoned . I think this place is open to the public and you most likely pay to go and visit it like these guys are doing and the owner or someone who works for them is present during the entire walk through.

Hello gentlemen. I actually knew David Weir and Agnes’s. David was one of the carpenters on the Titanic working on the cabinet projects. He told me when it went on its first voyage the cabinet work was actually not complete and he was ask to go on that fatal voyage along with others to continue the cabinet work. Well he declined of course and was alive to talk about his time on the Titanic. Super video.

@@Vics_photography_studio its completely possible to know someone who lived during the time of the voyage of the titanic lets say the man who worked on the cabinet was 25 at the time then its totally possible for this man to have been alive up until the 1980's. I work in healthcare and we actually have pt's well into their 90's. It is not far fetched to say that the person who posted this could have met them any of the decades in between the 1912 sinking and current day.

The fact that these houses are still standing, never mind everything inside being untouched, is mind staggering. The people in Sweden must be very honorable trustworthy people. The kind of wild, rotten little creeps we have here in the States would have ransacked, vandalized, and completely destroyed everything on this property in less than a week, and probably set fire to it all as well. It's beyond comprehension for any American to see how such a place as this could be left alone for so long. It is a wonderful thing to see that there are still people in this world who are not vicious monsters who destroy and lay waste to everything they see.

Thank you for giving us the tour of this fantastic Swedish time capsule. I lived through a Finnish winter almost 50 years ago. It lasted at least 4 months of sub zero temperatures every day. It's hard to imagine living in a forest, with no electricity during a Swedish winter. Hardy people who knew how to entertain themselves, work the land, and use the resources like lumber.. If they could afford Titanic tickets they had obviously done extremely well for themselves. Absolutely wonderful show, thank you so much for taking the time, and doing the research. So glad to see the house hadn't been vandalized in any way unlike SO many abandoned places that you've featured in previous shows. Keep them coming!!! 😃😃😃😃

Yes. There are quite a few historical homes and buildings preserved in this way in the United States. They are open only on certain days, or you can call the owners to make a reservation for a self-guided tour. They usually cost very little to nothing. I'm guessing this is what this place is, as many areas of the home have clearly been staged with belongings that would not have been left behind. The jackets and photos, as well as many of the other personal items were most likely donated back to the home by the family.

Its close to the same Swedish as today, but minor differences with spelling with words and lines. Also they mention they had Swedish crew members, classic Swedish food for all classes and medical services. The passengers will also be around a lot of Swedes to comfort the travel. They seem to have taken 3rd class into a better experience with use the deck for walking, nice dining room, lounge and cabins.

The underground structure you went into was a root cellar. My Swedish immigrant Great Grandfather built one like that into a hlll under ground using rocks with a door and roof to store potatoes, carrots, cabbage, beets, apples etc. on the farm I grew up in Idaho, USA. He bought the farm in 1889.

This was epic, both houses and the cars and barns were amazing to see. The White Star Line package was a fantastic find, all the papers were in like new condition! I agree with another who said those items would be appreciated in a museum, but I also understand how respectful it is for things to be left where they belong. I love Sweden, I lived there for a brief time. Beautiful country. Thank you so much for your wonderful channel, it's always a pleasure to watch your adventures xo.

I just stumbled upon to your video and when I saw it was from Sweden, I got curious as I’m from the same country. It got even more interesting when I saw the local newspaper ”Borås tidning” in the video as I live in Borås (a town east of Gothenburg). Thank you for letting us see this and hearing your thoughts about living in Sweden at the time…..

This video gave me the warm fuzzies, as I am of Swedish descent. My great-grandfather (Jonas Johannesson, though he changed his name on the boat to the US) came to the US (specifically Minnesota, which looks so much like Sweden, which is why we had so many Swedish immigrants here) in 1879, and though we were Americans, we held on to a lot of our Swedish heritage, even to this day. The tablecloth and Christmas tree candle holder in the middle of the dining table in the first house reminds me so much of holidays at my great-aunt's house, the first generation born in the US. ☺

To see Johan car/hat knowing he was mentioned at the Titanic museum as per comment below gives a whole new perspective on his life/contribution to the Titanic. Why so deep in the woods though tucked away. That hat reminds me of my dad he always had a couple. How can that flyer from 1923 be preserved like it’s new? 30,000 in todays $ for third class? It was mostly poor/working class who purchased those tickets. Third class tickets were £7.00 …800 in todays money. First class ran from 800 - 4000 £ depending on accommodation which would be about 40,000-50,000 in todays money. These things should be in a museum now it’s shown on the internet it’s only a matter of time before the wrong person sets foot in it.

17:48 Hi, Leslie and the other Bros! Just popping on with two things - Homeric wasn’t a sister ship to Titanic. They sailed for the same line, but not all ships of the same line are sisters. Titanic was one of three ships that belonged to the Olympic Class, which were RMS Olympic, RMS Titanic, and HMHS Britannic. These three were sisters. I hope that makes sense. 🥴 The most expensive ticket on Titanic was for one of her four parlour suites, which cost about £860 in 1912 - equivalent to just over $133,000 today. A Third Class ticket would have cost about £7 in 1912, or just under $1,200 today. This was a great video! Thanks for doing what you do. Just don’t get arrested next time. 😂

@@leannestoner844Not in this one. It was in a previous video where they went to an abandoned Russian space shuttle facility in Kazakhstan. They were spotted by security patrolling the site and they surrendered to the authorities. They did about 12 hours time in jail, I think, after going to court?

So old photo portraits like the ones you first showed, that had all the detail... old photographs had enormous negatives, so the resolution was excellent. In many cases, the negatives they made the prints from were almost as big as the prints themselves. My dad was born in 1916, and as an adult, he was an amateur photographer. I still have some old prints and negatives he shot as far back as the 1920s, 1930s. Really interesting place there.

I see many comments about the "menora" in the first house. It's not a menora. In Sweden it's common with these types of candelstick holders around christmas. I believe that this is a wooden hand carved candelstick holder from a company called Diös Slöjd.

Thank you for the explanation. I did read that many Jews hid from Hitler in Sweden though. Maybe that's why they were 'common', and out at around 'Christmas time'. (Hanukkah)

A very lovely time capsule of this couple. This is one house I wish you had shown the pictures on the walls clearly. I caught bare glimpses of a few that I would have loved to see up close. Most of the time you show what is on the walls! 😆 I am impressed that just candles & maybe some lanterns were depended on for light. A sweet humble cottage.

Fascinating, only meant to have a quick look but ended up watching the whole video. One thing I'm curious to know is: Someone clearly looks after things there and probably acts as guide behind the two guys. There are bits and pieces in those houses that could be of very high value. Are they placed there in order for us to see how they were left, and returned after filming? It may be a very remote property, but thieves are everywhere, not least if they have happened to see your video.

The wood grain on the door and furniture are most likely painted actually, it's very common they painted better looking wood grain or improved wood grain with spots of darker oils back in the day in Sweden. I have similar furniture that looks like that at home. And there are also local trees that look like such grains but lighter in color.
