strapped one of these lil monsters to a $500 Camaro, ran it for almost a year as my daily, raced a buddy home one night, post afternoon shift and spat out a giant chunk of piston only to find out i strapped the blower and completely wrong race demon 750 carb on a 267 that i had assumed was either a 305 or a 350! still ate my friends 5.0 Every time we raced....

I have had my 39 Deluxe coupe for 57 years. It has had Chevrolet motors since the beginning. The original engine was a 85 horse flathead. The frames are often victims of rust and abuse. I would check your frame very carefully.

That's a common misconception. I've been a Ford guy all 74 years on this planet, and yes maybe back in the 60's and 70's that might have been true. I can't say for sure because I only ran Fords. But today, with places like Summit, Jegs, and factory direct head, block, and manifold manufacturers the prices are basically the same between the engine brands.

I just watched a dyno test on a 351W and 350 Chevy. They spec'd all the parts out the same and the 351 made just a little more hp and torque. They made a point at the end of saying that the cost was basically the same. I don't remember the channel name, but it's right here on KZbin so you can see it for yourself.

Or alternatively, a stroked out 427 Windsor in a C3 would be a fun way to give the chebby guys a taste of what it feels like to see turbo350/SBC swaps clunked into cars that don't need them.
