While this piece of history has been memorialized in museums, books, and movies, none have been able to replicate exactly what lives in the memories of those who saw D-Day with their own eyes.
Frank DeVita was a Coast Guard gunner from Bensonhurst, and just 19 years old on June 6th, 1944. Today, D-Day history and his legacy live on through his family.
