The problem is, growing fruit trees in general from seeds will not produce a very good tasting fruit. If that was the case then fruit farms would have a lot more of competition than what they have now. If you want to succesfully grow a fruit tree that ALSO produces good tasting fruit, you have to get into grafting, which is way of propagating a fruit tree.

@@doctorthee That's good advice. Are they trying to grow fruit and veg suitable for their climate and season? Many store bought fruits and vegetables seeds won't grow true if they are from an F1 species. And many won't grow at all unless they are organic. Many non-organic store bought fruits and vegetables are treated with a chemical growth inhibitor to prolong their shelf life. Best advice... Grow what is appropriate for your location and season... Grow from planting seeds, not store bought donor seed.

In case you didn't know ! "figs are not fruit- they're actually inverted flowers. As such, they require a specific kind of pollination that can only come from fig wasps- wasps that have to die inside the fruit in order for the fruit to mature, since figs cannot be pollinated by wind or normal bees"

It is usually grown differently to what is shown in the timelapse, the part in the video was just for show. They grow in much larger clusters if given the space and right medium. The spawn is mixed in and the mushrooms will "fruit" a few days after. You can harvest and eat them young for a better taste but you will get slightly less

I teach her organic gardening and specifically closing the loop using only sustainable crops. Perhaps not everything that you grow will actually produce the same type of seed but the work you are doing is fantastic and it's very inspirational. You're a dedication to your craft is exceptional. Hats off to you. You might notice that if you grow a hybrid tomato seed, it will basically create a cherry tomato that has a relatively thick skin and is of medium size which is the base genetics of the seed taking over the hybrid. So if you get different results from some of your grows, that would be why. Carrots are biannual and actually will go to flower 2 years in a row.
