In North and West Yorkshire over 800 hectares of new woodland have been planted by three landowners as part of the White Rose Forest’s Landscapes for Water programme. Planting trees at the top of some of Yorkshire's major river catchments, the Woodland Trust, the National Trust and Broughton Sanctuary worked with the White Rose Forest team to plan, fund and gain approval for three large landscape restoration and natural flood management projects in sensitive upland landscapes. The White Rose Forest provided funding for these projects from their Trees for Climate programme, part of the Government's Nature for Climate fund. Thanks to our partners at Defra, the Forestry Commission and Natural England for their support in delivering these projects and making this film.
