I should mentioned first a huge thank you for doing the review for the JM Audio XTC Open headphone- your set was tuned to be a bit more full sounding - so yours were tuned FUN warm - something that I thought would be a bit addictive and fun with nice tight bass while still having extended mids and highs but never to be fatiguing- BUT as many would like to know- the XTC series is always custom tuned for the customers preferences at the time they order- it can be tuned for less or more bass or mids or highs etc- .... users also can choose between a 32ohm biowool driver hand matched custom made for us or a custom hand matched 32, 64 or 300 ohm beryllium driver - all tuned to the user's preferences. The idea is to match the driver to the owners equipment they own now or will own in the future. On this set I sent you I included two logos on the headband - I never did that before I usually pad the underneath of the metal headband to stop resonances but on yours I decided to just bling it up a bit for fun with the logos. Users can opt for either. They also get three sets of ear pads and choices of XLR, TRS 3.5 or 6.3 or TRRS- and I use 7N OCC wiring internally for soldering the driver with WBT silver solder- and users can choose a matching copperhead wire which synergistically matches the internal wiring for the ultimate imediance match. I hope this helps and I hope you will try my larger XTC2 and this time I will ask you which way you like it tuned- some examples: scalpel tuning flat bass, scalpel tuning, near scalpel tuning, warm yet detailed, warm, warm for tinnitus just to name a few...and users can send them back to re-tuned if we need to - even second owners can ship them back to us and we will again tailor that tuning the way the owner likes-

what are differences between biowool and beryllium drivers, sound wise ofc :)
@JMAudioEditions Жыл бұрын
@@soulfulfool the berylium has a ton of range for tuning where biowool is just maybe three tunings I can swing for end users

Very interesting! How do these differ from audioquest nighthawks or modhouse Argons? Thanks

@@v.i.l.o. usually people tell me what headphones they like and dislike and I try to tune them accordingly - these were a fun set I made- I can make these as detailed as one could want all the way up to what I call scalpel tuning which still gives nice bass mids and highs while being super detailed without fatigue- I plan on getting this review pair back and retuning more detailed and letting Michael hear the retune along with the larger sister to this the XTC2 which I think Michael may like even more

Just bought a pair of these tubes to my preference and they are amazing. Compete with headphones 2 or 3 times price maybe more but I haven't personally listened to 5k+ headphones. Then the 3 pads and 2 wires all of high quality these are a no brainer. And the fact you can have then personally tuned? Who the f does that?
