That's a beautiful home. I would add a flip up 15 inch shelf under the dining room/hallway. It would make extra seating to eat at. I also would put a wall with a barn door to the lower master bedroom. Its still a very beautiful place to stay at.

Cons: I would be concerned being able to replace the refrigerator with such a specific sized fridge being needed. It also did not look like it would be easy to pull out and clean behind. I'm also not a plan of side entry front doors, I prefer a door to be on the front of the house, visible from the street. The wood burning stove will probably heat the room nicely, but if you're baking in the oven also, you are really going to have a very hot room, possibly too hot to be in. The heat from the wood burning stove will probably make it impossible to sit next to at the island. Pros: The home looks very nice, and I love the abundant natural lighting. I wonder how lit the place would be at night, or on an overcast day in winter.

Oh man, this is another perfect layout for my husband and my EVENTUALLY retirement home to build on our land. ( Better location, better views, giving the main house to one of our kid's) He snores and farts all night long, I refuse to share a room with him. Hahahaha. The house is out of scale. Enough kitchen for a 3000SF house but a tiny living area barely big enough to shoehorn a loveseat. This is what happens when you DIY design to avoid paying an architect. Nice ceiling though.

Do people really like fireplaces so much. Every cabin has an indoor fireplace. I think get rid of the fireplaces, and put in radiant floor heating. Fireplaces are great - outside. This place has a fireplace that is unusable if you have kids, because you can't move around without risking touching the hot stove. Not a good placement.
