808 Base Gel & Mousse Def| Wash N Go Combo

I’m like you, I fell in love with Mousse Def and tried several other mousses and for me there’s nothing like mousse def. I have the exact combo in my head today.

Marshmallow root with glycerin is the reason that a lot of botanical gels ( Uncle funky, and 808) are sticky. It’s a great film forming humectant though. I used to be a crunch girl but I love combining gels with foam. I tried 808, bee girl custard, and crazy sexy curl on top and I’m in love!

The foam provides slip when styling and softens the bee girl custard so i don’t get the crunchy feel. 808 + mousse def is not enough hold for me and was kinda gooey feeling on my hair. I will have to try it again to see if it was my fault and I didn’t get the water/ product ratio right 🤷🏾‍♀️

I have this combo in my hair this week. Last week I used Crazy Sexy Curls with the 808 and I have to say I liked that combo better. But these will definitely be my 'go to' WnG combos this summer. Your hair looks great!

Looks great. You are so satisfied. That combo looked good but still too soft and mushy for me after a couple of days. I’m going to try it again with more water, because the honey and 24:08 glycerin in 808 is much, so maybe I need less product and more water. I can tell you though, when I found 808 I wanted it to be The Answer. The number 808 is very special for me in more ways than one, plus with the way they name their products, what 808 means in the hiphop world, is colosal.

Yessss I ended up trying it with Crazy Sexy Curl this week and I like it even better. My hair never got mushy but it was soft for sure. I think I will use 808 gel when I’m looking for this particular kind of wash n go but I still prefer a mousse only wash n go as of right now.

Why the hiatus from wash n gos ? Have you been experiencing dryness? Because I notice you don’t use leave-in or creams under your wash n gos . If dryness is the reason , please layer your mousse with some added moisture ❤️❤️

No it’s because I haven’t had much time to wash my hair as often as I need to when wearing wash and gos. Sometimes I need to make it to 14 days or more and that is not ideal with wash n gos

Mousse Def has leave-in conditioner in the product, same with Crazy, Sexy, Curl. I know leave in conditioner has some people in a chokehold so rest assured with products by The Doux.
