I was fortunate enough once to be upgraded to SAS Business on a transatlantic flight, and while it was amazing, I found myself almost feeling... guilty? It's hard to explain, but as someone who grew up relatively poor, having all these flight attendants do anything anyone could realistically want, including making my seat into a bed, made me sympathize with them. It's somewhat of a shock to actually experience what it really means to buy someone's service to you. It was a surreal feeling.

I get sentiment, but it is literally their job. I can only speak for myself here but as someonw who did housekeeping for rich clients mansions for 4 years (literally serving people lmao) It always felt condescending whenever my clients would be like "oh you don't need to do that!" Or felt obviously guilty for using my services. Like, it's ok it's literally my job! 🤣 I the only time I really felt humiliated working was when people went out of their way to make my job harder (had someone literally drop trash right in front of me and then act like I wasn't even there🙃) or treated me like I wasn't human but a robot who only exists to serve them. Thankfully my experiences have been mostly positive!

I am one of the lucky few that got to travel first class for free. I was flying back from Oklahoma to Frankfurt Germany and flew out of Dallas, (I was a soldier returning back Iraq) I was in uniform and an amazing man that I met in the terminal gave up his 10 hour first class seat and sat in coach.....I tried to say no, but he wasn't having it and insisted that I take his seat. It was crazy how amazingly I was treated in first class. I'm quite sure it wasn't anything close to what he experienced in the video, but it was the most comfortable and relaxing flight I have ever been on in my life, and I've flown all over the world.

I have never flown first class. I did fly QANTAS business class from the US to Sydney. It was a truly fantastic experience. 16 hours with PJs, a lie flat bed, snacks on demand, and great food was a vastly superior experience to the economy class flight to Asia I took 10 years previously in the middle seat of the middle aisle. I arrived completely rested. It was a once in a lifetime experience I can't afford to repeat, but it was worth it.

First class is very nice. I don't have the funds to travel this way on a regular basis.....but I have tried it. Was it worth it? Not if it means missing out on an amazing experience while on your trip due to lack of funds. And when I walk through 1st class on my way to coach....I have no regrets as I am saving thousands of dollars on an ocean crossing flight. I will bet that on most of my ocean crossing flights that the wealthiest person on the airplane was sitting in coach. Of course that depends on the wealthy person and how he got wealthy.

@Mmannk Жыл бұрын
@@xxunebissexx I used to have anxiety about it but then I joined the military and had to fly. Every time I got on a flight before that, I did it with someone else like my little sister who is terrified of flying. You know how it goes with social anxiety but you have a friend who is more anxious so your desire to help them outweighs your anxiety? It was kind of like that. I made sure I didn’t seem scared to make my sister feel better, and later because I didn’t feel like I could be scared in front of people when I was supposed to be brave as a soldier. But just one time flying while pretending I wasn’t scared really helped me realise that it wasn’t so bad after all. I’ve flown many times and nothing bad has happened outside of slight turbulence and missing flights. I always get myself a couple snacks, medicine like Benadryl advil and cough drops, prepare a nice long music playlist and dress comfortably and it really makes the experience much better. I’ve learned throughout the years as well that whatever happens will happen and there’s no reason to be so anxious about it. I have diagnosed anxiety, so it won’t stop it entirely but it does help to remind myself that no amount of worrying will change the outcome of anything. Tl;dr I had to fly and pretended I wasn’t scared and then I realised it wasn’t so bad, and I just made myself as comfy as possible to pass the time. Take some sleep aid and take a nap to make the time fly faster if needed

As a giant who can only afford economy I have never once slept on a flight. Being 6'4", and a broadly built man, I can't even begin to imagine how wonderful it must feel to sleep. When traveling internationally it is common to be awake for 40-50 hours straight which makes me just a bit delerious. Once I even stayed awake for 63 hours whilst traveling from Dubai to Denver, taking a 5 hour layover in Seattle to go explore the fish markets and stretch my legs. Imagine being confined to your bedroom for 80 hrs, let alone a very small space on a plane. I’ve been fortunate to fly first class many times through my job at an airline, and it’s great for that very specific journey, but definitely not something I’d seek out to repeat if I can help it. Travelling in a plane does such weird things to our expectations. We’re more grateful to an air hostess giving us a hot towel than we are for most of our Christmas presents. In first class, you might get through 5 glasses of wine (aka a £6 bottle from Aldi) and a few beers before you’re done. But at the time, you sip it as if you’re drinking from the holy grail itself. I’ve left my old job now so am back to flying economy, so I totally get the envy of those in first class. But a bit of perspective is needed. It is still a tiny space, where you get given food and drink that you’d ordinarily resent paying 20 quid for in the real world. And I’m sure many people are watching this video lying in bed. Trust me, you are 100x comfier than you would be in the best first class seat.

I traveled business class (not first class) on Air France and was soooooo happy with that. I sleep on flights, so just being able to actually lie down in my seat was the cat's meow. I can bring my own food, own pj's, own beverages, etc. Just give me the "bed". I despise long flights, esp. over an ocean (eek), so I prefer to sleep through it. No need to wake me for anything, no matter how great the service is.I will say, though, that I could probably acclimate pretty quickly to this supreme service. :)

I have only been on a plane a few times in my life, back in 2003 when returning from Dubai to UK I was upgraded to 1st class due to being attacked by someone for no reason in standard, (who was then handcuffed and arrested in the UK) anyhow, 1st class was lovely and all my friends (14 of them) were well jealous.

Please bare in mind he's spent 6 figures in air fare to get to this point of spending so little on this trip. The 213k airmiles are at first class level and that is pricey! Great video, well edited, and I'm jealous of the caviar!

Congratulations! This is an excellent video, really well put together and well filmed. It is amazing that we live in a world in which some thing like this can be done. But if you think about it, it probably isn’t done that much because of the time and the expense and the knowledge needed to pull it off. Thanks for sharing! And once again, congratulations!

Instead of taking a direct flight to Seattle, I flew through Atl just so I could fly the A350 from Atl-SeaTac. I was informed there were tons of seats available and I got the first class upgrade on that leg (former diamond medallion member). I only traveled domestic so it was hard to catch those bigger planes during my former travel days. I understand why he did what he did making this video. Thanks for sharing! From one former Jetsetter to another adventurous traveler! Great video! And yes, BA is low level compared to the other airlines…what a ripoff on ticket price and selection.
