80s and 90s sports special 35 card PSA reveal

I just got back my 80’s and 90’s order as well. Kind of pi$$ed off. They creased an 89 Griffey upper deck and graded it a 4. I sent a complaint in. I looked my cards over with a bright light and magnifying glass and I have before pictures with no creases. Mine were all that I personally opened back then, sleeved and top loaded all star cards. The other Griffey got an 8. My Ripken FF card got a 9. My Pucketts just like yours got 8’s. I think PSA sees cards from the 80’s and 90’s and starts at a 9 then goes down from there. Yeah, I’m a little salty. Thanks for sharing your reveal!

Sorry to hear about the Griffey, that’s prettt messed up. That Ripken FF in a 9 is a good one! They are definitely tough on them. Granted the 85 Puckett and the FF Ripken are very condition sensitive. Finding a copy even out of the pack that looks like a 10 is damn near impossible. They definitely hand out high grades like it’s nothing on the ultra modern stuff compared to the junk wax. 30 years of sitting around hasn’t done any good on the card board they used for the cards and the print. It’s super subjective though, they’re graders don’t follow guidelines on grades very well. A 7 to one guy is a 9 to the next, just PSA for ya haha. Appreciate you watching!

Love watching 80’s 90’s reveals, and yours didn’t disappoint 🔥👌 You cleaned up on the late 90’s football! Sorry about the GOAT effect of Jordan, it’s so obvious they grade Jordan stuff extra tough. And I would hang on to those Puckett’s…they looked better than 8’s. Fun reveal!

Thank you! It seemed like most of those Jordan’s were rounded down or a whole grade lower, definitely a goat effect there. Was so much fun grading those though and trying to find clean copies. So many amazing 90s inserts out there to look through! Appreciate you watching.

Sweet 90s cards, those are tough to grade, I'm not surprised at all the inside and out sold right away. I think the 90s stuff will get more rare over time as you mentioned it'll be harder and harder to find clean copies of them

Nice Kobe’s and Jordan’s! I can’t get a Kobe RC 10 to save my life! But I just did a massive trade got a bunch of 90s inserts (I posted a video on my page) I’m going to send a few of those in , Kobe Stardate 2000 , Jordan’s , Jeters , Griffey etc. congrats on the 10s!

I love those Star Powe inserts..i have a Kobe thats probably a 7.. I shouldn't grade it but i probably will anyway just to have it slabbed..they have die-cut versions of those inserts also that go for much more

Appreciate it! I just threw it up there and we’ll see what happens. I’d imagine somewhere closer to $150 is probably realistic. Or atleast if I was a buyer what I’d want to pay but who knows. Hopefully I’ll get some offers out of it. Figured it can sit for awhile if anything. Thank you very much for the suggestion, definitely going to add that in there. I want to know where the other 6 of them are lol I cannot find a public sale on it anywhere.

New sub here! Love the MJ stuff man, that's all I collect. I buy nothing but raw also and been looking for a clean inside/outside insert for about a year, it's impossible to find without some whitening on the corners. I haven't even found 1 that I thought would grade even a PSA 9. So great pickup on that one u found! The Gem pop report on that card is very low

Appreciate you watching and subbing! Was pleased with that inside outside. Some very minor edge chipping and a couple corners on the back had some light wear. It was definitely worthy of a 9. I hardly got that card listed and it was already sold. Pretty new to these Jordan inserts but definitely one I’m going to keep an eye out for now.

Ya grading that 90's stuff is really hard. I sent in some Griffey inserts and it was hit or miss.

Definitely a challenge. It was pretty fun though, and 8s really are not terrible on some of those Jordan’s and other 90s cards. Definitely going to be keeping my eyes open for clean copies!

Yeah definitely seemed like they graded them a little harder then the other 90s stuff I had in the order.

Oh wow it sure does! Explains the dull surface and all the horizontal lines on it. Thank you very much for the info. Kind of surprised PSA doesn’t have labels that designate with or without coating.
