I was into Nu-wave in the early 80s: A Flock of Seagulls, Gary Numan. Then was obsessed with Duran Duran, Wham! (And George Michael solo) and A-ha. Then later I evolved into more dance club bands like Dead or Alive, Depeche Mode, Siouxie and the Banshees. Truthfully though, if it was on the radio, I loved it.

Here is a funny story when I met Duran Duran. I used to drive limos and my boss tells me I am picking up Duran Duran. I was driving a normal size black Lincoln town car. It was two trips, on the second one I have Simon in my car. He was very nice, he had a young woman who worked for him in the car too. He is a vegan, he tells her he is hungry and for her to grab him something to eat. But, he was says that for her not get anything from the restaurant from the last time, that it gave him gas. I say to Simon, "Yeah, that would suck from the people in front row." He says back "Front row? what about the band behind me."

I was and still am to this day a huge fan of bands from the 80's like KISS, Great White, Dokken, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Poison, Van Halen, Metallica, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Bonnie Jovi, Slaughter...You get the picture!

@@Neil-ht8fv Seriously, about Madonna I don't really know what you mean: "Like a Virgin" and "True Blue" were released in the 1980s and were certified Diamond and Platinum, making Madonna an icon of the 1980s for sure, not to mention "Like a Prayer", 1989. About Spandau Ballet: "True", "Parade" and "Through the barricades", all from the 1980s and all Gold and Platinum certified. Also, if you talk to someone from the "generation X" they can certainly guarantee you that Madonna and Spandau Ballet, in the 80s, were musical icons, especially the former, who also dictated fashion and style to all the girls of the time.
