So glad to hear you say Victorian and Edwardian Revival instead of calling all of these prairie dresses ... Gibson Girl is a great keyword too. Great video!

So true! Although I'd say only a true vintage lover would know to look up Gibson Girl aesthetic.

Fab! I’d LOVE a video on Y2K fashion and what trends you see coming down the pipeline for the fall. I’m also wondering how you know what to CALL things so that people can find them (like cottage core - that one was everywhere so it’s obvious, but I just have this feeling I’m not “in the know” in terms of what the TikTok crowd calls these things these days. 😂 Love the content - keep it coming! Thanks!

@@ShopFoxburrow clearly you have boys! Lol! My girls took fabric scraps and made bandeau tops when they were like 8 & 10! And I tried to raise they to not be girlie girls! Ha! And... Things i didn't want to part with I put in dress up! I must have known they were valuable!

What a great video! I can tell you put a ton of work into it. As a GenXer, I found this very nostalgic! I often see people mislabel anything with big shoulder pads as 80's, but they were quite prevalent into the 90's (just watch Scully in the X-files...HUGE shoulder pads in season 1...LOL). I realize I have an advantage since I wore so many of these fashions during these time periods (can't believe I've become vintage!). I had stacks of those big floral dresses! We also wore "dickies" in our low waisted dresses. I'm not sure the official name, but they were straight cut inserts into V-necks (blouses and dresses). Thank you again for the walk down memory lane. You did a great job!!
@ShopFoxburrow3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Dickies! The "cousin eddie" as I like to call them LOL. I haven't found one of those in so long! I feel like most of them end up at the Goodwill Outlet (which is where I found my last one). I used to think they were so ridiculous but now sometimes I see the appeal...sometimes you don't want the bulk of an actual sweater!

I was thrilled to find some men’s coveralls at an estate sale, I think I mentioned this before. It brought back so man6 memories of my grandpa. I remember the 80’s and 90’s fashions, I lived it. But I’m loving these videos because it helps with keywords and reinforce what I remember. Thank you so much. I will even watch the commercials for you 😉😊💕

You are an angel, thank you! Every watch helps I know they are annoying. I have a pair of old coveralls I wear to garden, but they're so fun I'd wear them on a Target run too :)

I hit like and subscribed to your channel. I just love hearing about 80s style because I lived it. I was a totally 80s kid and it just brought me back to everything I use to wear. I flip flop to hip hop style sometimes which you did not cover but you explained what you were covering. Thanks for the journey back in time.

This is so so so helpful, as always! You make learning about vintage easy digestible and interesting. I don't know why, but I often think that I don't love 80s fashion personally - but every single thing you talked about and put up I was like..."oh, that's cute!". Thank you thank you! xo

Great video! I have an awesome pink faux silk jumpsuit from the 80s with a couple of minor (I think) flaws - sounds like I should list with those flows clearly shown, it's still 100% wearable.

Love this!!! Very helfpul tool. I have access to a lot of vintage and love it! I feel gut feelings to purchase to sell everything (and keep it for myself) but originally my goal was to have trendier quick flip items, but my area doesn't seem as plentiful in this area.

LOVE this video. So many great tips - I see the Indian pieces frequently. Will have to take another look at them. What do you think about the short sleeve, silk button down blouses?straight hem, small shoulder pads? I see those a lot. I usually pick them up if NOS.
@ShopFoxburrow3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I used to pick those up when I first started, but have since stopped. I find them difficult to move. But 1919 vintage does really well with them, so the market may be trending toward them again.

When were stirrup pants and body suits in style? 70s or 80s?

I think mostly the 80s, but you might see some earlier for riding gear.

How can you tell if an Anokhi is from the 70s or 80s? I got an Anokhi dress with a more subdued pattern. I think the tag was the same.
@ShopFoxburrow3 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen a couple of examples of anokhi tags and I believe they look a bit different. But it would be down to fabric content tags or lack there of and silhouettes, especially sleeves.
@gailsch3 жыл бұрын
@@ShopFoxburrow Thank you. This dress has been puzzling me for awhile. It really doesn't point to any decade. It is a short sleeve blouson type dress that ties at the side of the waist. And it is too big on me, but I can't tell how many sizes too big to use that as an indication. I'm still at the point where I pick up stuff I like or find interesting and am trying to learn about the history and construction as I go. Thank you for this video and your other ones! They are very helpful. I can usually recognize decades by sight from staring at clothes my entire life, but I don't have the vocabulary or the categories.
