I remember going to a night game at Spurs. Special was cancelled & so about 50 of us got the ordinary from Liverpool. We reckoned if we avoided Seven Sisters then we would be okay. We jumped off at Northumberland ave. No sign of The Yids. But as we approached Whitehart Lane, word must have got round that we were in town. Next performance a load of black lads came around corner chanting War war war. Kill kill kill. Zulu. There was a hell of a lot of em. They gave chase & we legged it. They had bats & we didn’t wanna wait around. As we got to our end we scampered in & a few of us got sprayed with what we think was ammonia. Or CS. Anyway after game which we got best 1 nil(Garth Crooks from a corner) we waited in the escort & one of our lads got stabbed in the arse. Another lad says to me in a cockney accent,”we are in here with you scouse!” I thought Ffs is this night ever gonna end 🤣 Cut a long story short I missed my last train from Euston due to more fighting & so waited in station. A pair of jocks asked if I was ok. We got chatting & I went bk to their flat. They cooked breakie & we had a few cans. Eventually gets back to Liverpool & I bumped into 2 of my Evertonian mates. I asked where they were going. Oh we are off to Norwich to watch Everton. I said, I’m coming with you. So off we went 🤣. Got into a ruck there too with the Norwich faithful. My poor mother must have been up the wall with me bk then. Going missing for days. I was only 17 or 18
