I don't care to hear about this or that celeb, I don't care, they don't care about us, I do not need to know what they ate for bfast that day, who cares lol. I think some people now are so self impressed and self important, they lost their manners and respect for everyone else. It was just a great, better time back then. It's nothing but a headache now...look at the headlines, nothing but chaos , every single day, you don't get a break from it. We have to give ourselves a break from it. Good idea losing the phone. Online shopping only makes up 8% of over all retail sales. It accounts for very little. Just a several years ago it was at 5% of over all retail sales. I mean it does too but you know what I mean. Also Columbine in ‘99 and 9/11 changed everything too. There’s no way that times will ever be able to be like what they were from the 80s-90s. My favorite store for clothes was Casual Corner. My first job was in 1979 doing inventory for the Squire Shop (competition was the Jean Machine).

I was born in 88,I wish I would’ve got to experience 80-87. The 90s are special to me,particularly 90-93 but the 80s seems fun.

Back in the early ‘80s, I loved going to Bannister Mall in KC to do my Christmas shopping. I’d love to go back in time. Just for a day.

we all miss these times, especially now. maybe one day, when we all are retired, ( only 20 years away for some of us) we will all meet up in Florida somewhere and reminisce again lol

The mall was so special in those days as a kid. For some reason no one seems to remember the Nintendo centers in some malls where you could sit and play a bunch of nes games (though they were on a timer).

@Neheb Sehetep Netjeru Sekhet-Aaru I got rid of mine 2 yrs ago for the same reason, and don't miss it at all (have a land line and tablet though). We still have control over a few things in our life. Never bought anything from Amazon, still listen to 80's CD's on my JVC player (I bought in '86), still go to actual stores if I want something. I have no idea who the 'stars' are today, mostly read books, watch old movies and avoid much news. If the weather is decent, I'm outdoors.
