My parents wouldn’t buy me this exact Sears Truck from the sears toy catalog. But, my neighbor had it removed the stickers and just bragged. Glad to go down memory lane again.

The Chevy Syclone (this is proper spelling) was all black. There is a small red badge on the side. If you can recreate one of them, this was a pretty special truck.

Do you remember the Firefox r/c truck from the late 70’s? I remember this spoiled rich kid at my school had one and I was jealous and wanted one haha. It big thing was it was off road capable. One time it was a prize giveaway on that show Tv Powww where you called in, watched a video game on the tv, and shouted “POW! POW! POW!” Into the phone and a guy back stage on the other end would hit the fire button. If you scored enough points you’d win it. There’s a video of the tv commercial for it on KZbin as well as some TV Powww videos.

Don't remember that one.

Ah, the good old days. When manufacturers actually supported you to fix your own stuff (instead of actively undermining it).

Days long gone. Now you add it to the pile of trash and buy a new one.

That thing coming with a schematic breakdown of all the parts model numbers how to order them and so on and as such a cheap little unit. The price of remote control toys nowadays and you don't get any of those lol. Bygone era. So much stuff I've had here you'd probably have a field day with lol. Majority of it eventually somebody gets a hold of me that's a collector or that reverse engineers and stuff.i have as an example at this point I think six typo terrain twisters not sure if I've gotten a single remote yet lol.i dont work on the stuff myself I'm actually I run into somebody that's looking for one remote control vehicle or another whether it's they use the stuff for parts or they restore the vintage ones. Recently had a guy that got a Porsche from me that was one of the old Radio Shack or Sears ones from late '70s early 80s the had a little police light on the roof as an example. Same guy got a Radio Shack Red Claw tank from me what's going to make your head spin is I had the remote for the tank for about 15 years where it was in a box of stuff that somebody threw out. And I still knew where the remote was when I found the tank at a thrift store.the tank and remote work just fine. Toys made of a bygone era;)

Are you going to swap the shells to keep the new one working and nice and mint? I had the Sears Jungle King Corvette and Martini Racing Porsche back in the 70's.
@RandiRain9 ай бұрын
Yes... I also have the Porsche coming up.

Hey Randi great videos. was wondering have you ever thought of upgrading some of the vintage r/cs? like modernize the electronics? put in a new esc. Newer modern motors?? Do not get me wrong. they were great then. Still awesome if you can get them to work. But on big issue of the day, They ate batteries like we drink soda coffee and other fun drinking things.. With little up grades. thing can be fast and fun and run on newer Battery tech. love to see that trans am burn some rubber and take off with a new motor and new batteries like a small 3s li-po. just a thought. let me know what you think. Be fun to see that old truck hit the road and leave some rubber behind. thanks for the video. .

Not motors or batteries, but I've replaced electronics. That's what I did with the other truck. You'll see next week. I have some other cars coming. Maybe I can think about upgrading.

You'd think it would be easier to have solenoids pulling a tie rod instead of brakes.
@RandiRain9 ай бұрын
I didn't think of that, but solenoids do require a lot of current to have any strength pulling. Maybe that had something to do with it.

I think it look better withbthe Rusteluem Chrome. Its a Chevy Truck after all. Not a SPORTS CAR

I drive an electric car. Isn't it funny we have had toy electric cars for 50+ years and real electric cars are now becoming common.
