I know! I think this movie was never marketed well bc of its low budget. Most of its fame is from word of mouth, but its not enough to make it commercially viable for a blu ray release. I think its only chance to be released on bluray, is if the criterion collection deems it sufficiently important to cinema history or culturally relevant. The criterion collection has rescued a lot of indie films that would have never gotten a blu ray otherwise. They just made a 4k Blu-ray release of menace II society. Which is also another low budget film , but menace ii society did have its bluray before the criterion collection picked it. For now, the closest thing we have is a 4k upscale version of the film that someone uploaded to youtube. You should check it out

Wow, I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to find all these locations, especially the small alleys behind the homes up in the hills. I remember in those days these gang movies were often shot in, or near, the real hoods where things went down. To see neighborhoods filmed within the Hollenbeck division just sends me back. I remember a friend taking me to El Tepeyac in the early 90s late at night. Your channel is a true gem.

It surely takes a lot just finding these places, but probably even more time to get the original camera angles right for the actual original shot at each of these locations. Then there is the editing and narration for the final touches. Excellent work!

This was the one I was waiting for, I love this movie and the LA locations. Growing up in Central Oregon some of my best friends were Chicano and as a kid I wanted to be down with my friends. I remember chilling with my homies with this movie playing in the back ground. This film brings back a lot of great memories of my brothers and really just brings back so many feelings. Late on this but since watching your video this is the one I wanted to see. Even though I never been to LA It tough to see places changes from how you remember from your youth

Every Saturday I washed cars across the street from that funky colored mechanics shop on Whittier Blvd & Record. Ave. Sad to find out that shop is no longer around. Kid Frost shot some X-rated music videos at that shop for "What's Your Name (Time Of The Season)" & I forget the name of the other song but man I love East LA. I watched this movie countless times and one of the times was with my high school friend past 4 in the morning. That's when the Northridge Earthquake hit. I'm sure you remember that one lol

I remember walking past the video store every day going to high school and seeing the poster of BIBO .It wasnt until 98 that I saw the film and I instantly fell in love with it..Long live the 90s
