Would argue the 83in G4 is de facto the BEST 83in OLED on the market & it’s by a mile due to every other 83in OLED’s uniformity issues that every seasoned reviewer couldn’t get past. I’d even say it’s the best, largest TV. I’d snag this if I didn’t get a solid deal on the 77 S90C. But I also agree QD is still the best tech on the market currently. Do you experience the fine diagonal lines artifacts during motion on the somewhat darker parts of the screen? There is diagonal banding issue to see probably on all C4 and G4 models, if you watch them close enough.
@AllAboutTKKАй бұрын
I tried looking for it but so far have not seen this. Will continue to inspect though.
@Mikaci_the_Grand_DukeАй бұрын
I mostly see it in games where the entire image is moving very fast, like in Forza Horizon when you're driving through the woods and there are many bushes and leaves. But I can also reproduce it somewhat if I move the camera around a spot where there is a problematic point in the moving image. I would really like to see if it is a global problem or if some series are bad. It doesn't look like the panel itself is defective, but rather a flaw in the software or chip, and it might have something to do with the refresh rate. I think it's more noticeable with 60Hz. It's somewhat similar to how the interlaced image used to look in the old days, but it's diagonal, much tinier, and a faint phenomenon in the semi-dark parts, really only visible within 1.5 meters or even less. It's as if every second line has slightly lighter or darker colors calculated for the somewhat darker, but still colorful parts, and also these different colors are shifted sideways, creating this faint diagonal effect.

@easyrider76Ай бұрын
@@AllAboutTKK This is certainly not true when talking about color volume, because a WOLED-MLA panel can never show the same color as a QD-OLED, but you can be the best expert in settings. QD-OLED is also better for gaming, and everyone agrees that the LG G4 will have to do something about it. What's the use of a TV with massive brightness when it loses its color display. Siguro, however, with the G4 model, LG significantly improved the processing and motion picture itself, but the color spectrum will never reach QD-OLED panels.

Why do you guys keep trying to tell me what I’m seeing, do you not see clear as day I own both. My perspective doesn’t come from science or watching others, I have all the TVs, respectfully. The margin is so thin it’s not even worth discussing. I’m gonna say what I’ve always said, this tv 83” g4 is an upgrade because it’s larger and it’s in the same field as a95L. I have said dozen times I prefer QD-OLED, last year I got rid of the G3 when I had it next to s90c. That’s a fact, but every comment is becoming tiring when you guys go to trying to explain all this science to me like I’m not literally in the house with every panel this year, bro. All due respect.
@easyrider76Ай бұрын
@@AllAboutTKK Surely the differences are small or there are no differences at all, if you only have one TV to watch, which somehow mostly has already been said many times. However, there are some who see those small differences and talk a lot about it, but for most users it doesn't matter what you already have, just to make the TV last for a long time. In the future, I would buy nothing bigger than a 65" TV, and to begin with, the LG B4 is on the list for the lowest price for a good 1,300 dollars, that's how much I'm paid for a month's work, let's say then the LG C4 is already 300 dollars more expensive and then the Samsung S90D comes on the list for the price of 1,800 dollars, and now, for example, the LG G4 costs 2,500 dollars, which I never intend to pay for a TV.
@raymondreddington6356Ай бұрын
@@easyrider76don’t bother. Last year he said the color volume differences between g3 and a95l are huge. Now he’s telling you it is close. Meanwhile there is zero bump in color volume this year on the g4 outside of adding in color booster in game mode which still does not make it close. What I don’t understand is why people can’t say hey listen…it is not as good as qd oled. Nowhere near as good actually. But the only reason I got it is because it’s the best 83” which it obviously is. But not in the same league as qd oled. This is why we see LG pushing outdated obsolete tech year in and year out. Why should they bump the tech when the influencers are all team lg.

Mind is so so apparently on those tests, but wouldn't know otherwise in real life . Also people see relative to other colors. Panasonic holds color on it's MLA, LG pushes the pop a bit more. Shame no 83" MLA panasonic. Think going forward QD-OLED will get an advantage in games ( easier to implement ) same for cartoons and some 4K nature documentaries like Planet Earth. If only Max max - who cares what does hot flames even look like? white , orange red , blue etc all acceptable for flames. Ie on a G4 even though not same as reference, it will still be very impactful and seem "natural" for 99% of viewers given they have been watching on inferior screens for decades . We easily accept less than life speakers. Do you really want 1812 overtures' cannons to sound real and blow out your eardrums . Plus HDR is hyper real anyway compressed boosted dynamics so can take it all it - plus most scenes in day to day life pretty flat, or can be hazy, or extremely high contrast sun vs deep shadows - normally need golden light dawn/dusk or some other favourable situations soft contrast with colors, night neon lights with,rain etc

In UK 83” G4 is cheaper than 77 A95L. Even though it’s just 6” I would also go with LG. Not paying more for smaller screen. New Hisense 98 UX has got my attention also, but thinking OLED is OLED still, 20% bigger screen is it enough to go Hisense? I want to wait till CES as I’m suspecting current LG panel can go 2-3k nits, actually Philips releasing TV based on LG MLA that hits 3k nits precisely - so it’s achievable. Also think Samsung nerfed their panel also on purpose as its 3k nits capable also (as people tweaked and found out). So next year we could see 2.5-3k nits OLEDs in my opinion. Whilst I’m not that big on increased brightness but in some scenes extra brightness adds to realism also comes usually in pair with higher APL, which matters more.

With my LG G4 I remain dissatisfied with many Dolby Vision contents, especially those on the Apple TV platform. I have to use customized VIVID eliminating all the enhancement algorithms and so the dark scenes are enjoyable with detail and clarity. See for example the recent film Wolves on Apple TV is the festival of darkness. How does it look on your Sony A95L? I believe that Dolby Vision mode should be tested in depth when doing TV reviews because it is an increasingly popular video mode. In the presence of bright scenes such as outdoors they can be seen very well, but then when we have interior or night scenes the performance is less satisfying even than the SDR counterpart (in HDR it is then outclassed in terms of bright output and clarity with tone mapping) . I have now resigned myself to using Vivid and no longer pay attention to it. Then, if I can, I watch many films in the HDR10 version rather than in Dolby vision.

great points. On paper 8k and ppi (pixel density) refresh rate and all these other stats sound good on paper. the reality is like you said what hardware is driving this. and also what natural content can you stream in 8k? sports are still 720p and only select games have a 4k option. 8k is not here and if anything is more of a waste because your buying stats you cant use. by the time content is 8k by default we will be in our 50s

@@TheAntifluencerI also saw yesterday that somehow Panasonic finished badly, or in other words it finished disastrously against other TVs. In the end, the LG G4 really won and their this year's processor is really an improvement, and somehow next year they will probably use additional blue LEDs to bring the image closer to the Qd-Oled panel, as it is still a little behind in certain display segments.
@filipegaspar4836Ай бұрын
This comment will be long but sincere: I don’t know man.. I’m buying a tv on Black Friday.. I started searching what tv would be the best.. Never had a Oled before, so I had LG in the best regards.. But when I go to the store or even in KZbin LG G4 seems almost always to me the worst of 2024 flagships. It maybe the most luminous, and the motion is top notch and the most sharp. Probably in 83 inch is the best of the best… BUT, it’s not the best in all other sizes against any QD Oled.. LG, can’t reproduce whites correctly. Every white is blue/green ish and that reflects a lot in other colors too.. To me, coming from a Qled, the LG image always looks somewhat washed out in yellows and reds. Greens and blues are beautiful but sometimes become to saturated and lack contrast IMO. And I really make an effort to see that “excellence” that everyone talks about, because LG as a brand was really my first choice.. I see people talking: No Dolby Vision no deal.. Like: Who the hell cares about DV when your image sucks over all.. 🤦🏻♂️ DV is soo over rated.. Even HDR too.. in my case, Qled 2018, i stoped using it for everything because colors, light and motion dropped a lot.. And without HDR it’s 120hz.. But MAYBE it’s my tv.. I saw all flagships together countless times, because in the end I’m spending 3 to 4,5k, the ones that stand out to me are Sony A95l and S95D.. But I have some cons on them too.. A95l motion processing sucks.. A lot.. I don’t know if between 2023 and 2024 they corrected it somehow.. The S95d, in spite of that matte finish not being my dream for my first Oled, it kinda grew up on me and I have a very bright room.. It sucks because I can’t choose.. 😢

This is why you need quantum tvs settings. He said the exact same thing as you. All lg oleds unfortunately push too much blue and green which makes the colors way too cool instead of warm which washes out the other colours. You can also stay on cinema mode, turn the blue light filter and stay on warm 50.
