Hey everyone, I'm back. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your support. I really appreciate all you guys. This video I just want to express myself as to what my impressions are so far when I compare the LG G4 TO THE SONY A95L. I love them both but I gotta say that the LG4 is an immediate eye catcher and they are killing it.
Showing all of us what we done forgot. That when it comes to this tv thing, LG is not a rookie. They crushed it with the G4 and this is how you make a comeback. This is why we love this kind of stuff. Because competition gets real thick.
LG is here to shut it down. Very hard tv to beat. to the point where the only one I can see winning is Sony at this moment.
But they would have to come out with an all new processor to do so. Cause the G4 is next level.
Not all tvs are perfect we all know this. But the forward improvements they have made are undoubtedly the best ones I personally ever seen. And they just started with the A11.
Please hit the like button and subscribe for more showdowns.
Thank you all and can't wait to see your opinions and learn more about all you guys.
0:00. Intro and quick response impressions before the comparisons.
5:15. How good the G4S colors improved compared to Sony A95L
9:45. THE LG has pleasantly proved me wrong and I am excited about it.
12:50. G4 has more clarity, and better reflections with dtm on. but can blow out the moon and son more then brightness preferred on the sony A95L.
19:40. GOW Ragnarok. The color red no longer a woled issue.
22:20. Motion comparison of the A95L and G4.
27:18. luminosity of the G4 Compared to The A95L.
30:20. Fine details close up comparison.
34:25. 3d effect close up comparison.
37:30. Audio feels to he improved. But need s some tweaking.
41:04. WEB OS UI. Still my favorite menu but seems it's gotten slower.
42:05. What is your choice? Seriously interested in what your thoughts are. Outro.

Thanks so much for your excellent detailed review! I was torn between getting a Sony A95l 77 inch or a LG 83 inch G4, but you helped me make up my decision. I really wanted a 83-85 inch size, but was initially going to sacrifice size (G4) for picture quality (A95L). The 83 inch LG G4 is now my choice for picture quality, clarity, 3D effect, and size. Your reviews are very detailed and well done!

Sony 2023 TV versus LG 2024 new TV it’s not a fair comparison at all of course Sony TVs are always on top every year so what a good way to hype up the new 2024 g4 by comparing it to Sony’s last year TV if you want to see what this TV is all about and the possible issues you have to check out HDTV test with Mr. Vincent that’s what I call. Both tvs look amazing, LG upped the bar this year and im impressed. That being said, DTM is more aggressive on LG tv's and I think turning on contrast enhancer and live color medium would have matched the G4 in luminance and color if not exceeded it. Im also curious if lg loses detail when color depth is dialed up to 70.

I don't own either of these television. From what i see in the video, especially with the yellow trees in the beginning, you can see the limbs within the leaves on the Sony A95L. On the LG G4, it's as if the color of the leaves is so bright that it keeps the limbs of the trees from being seen. That's something that stood out to me where I felt the A95L was better looking.

@xJay2002. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Yes, many ppl are saying that. I think personally that creators' intent is more so supose to look yellow. But I'm not entirely too sure because I have the temperature set to warm instead of professional on the A95L as I am just not a fan personally of professional. And on the g4, I always set the tv to warm 50. But to others in this comment threads point. Yes, it's true. KZbin, my camera, and other aspects can attribute to the fact that the picture looks more orange on one over the other. It is not as noticeable in person for sure. But the black levels are matched equally

@shanealexandet730. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. Yea, me too. I would assume that regardless of how great their dimming zones algorithm works, the contrast and blooming will not look as good as an oled at all. I'm also assuming that the brightness will be primarily within the highlights, especially when in cinema mode. And I'm assuming the dimming zone algorithm will be better when watching movies over in game mode. But I really wouldn't be the best one to listen to only because I won't have that tv in front of me cause, unfortunately.

The G4 clearly gets brighter, and is an improvement over last year but personally, I just got a Samsung S90D and have it set to the point where it's kicking out the same (if not better) colour vibrancy, and detail as the G4 during gaming, especially, and it's a fraction of the price that LG will be selling this tv for. Nothing taken away from how gorgeous the G4 looks, but these flagship tvs are drastically overpriced right now, given that the differences between them, and their mid tier counterparts is marginal at best (brightness, and slightly better processing is all I notice so far). I mean, if you have the money to burn, then by all means go right to the top, but I'm betting tvs like the C4, S90D, etc, are going to appeal to a much wider audience for the price tag than the high end models this year 🤷‍♂

Looking at the picture from Ghosts of Tsushima, around 5:28 - 8:50, i guess somewhat ironicly, i prefer the slight muted colors of Sony. I dont know, picture looks a bit more realistic. The LG looks a bit more cartoonish or saturated in comparison, with the heavy dose colors ... it has great contrast with the blacks though, that would look great if you are into dark games, such as horror games. When the QD oled panels first came out (some) (LG) folks were complaining about the saturated, "unrealistic" colors, but now, with the new MLA panels, LG almost looks like saturated 🤔😛

I always choose sony because of their more balanced and natural looking picture. Just my preference. But i might consider LG now and G4 in particular after what you said. Do you know if their 55" model has the same goodies as the 77"? I know they don't prioritize their smaller models so i don't want to be fooled that their 55" is basically just an older model with the G4 name. I want their newest upgrades like you mentioned here because im fully aware of LG's game mode on previous models. Why i choose Sony 2 years ago.

Agree. LG has done right by us, giving us features years down the line via firmware. After trying a Samsung this year(s95d) it made me appreciate LG even more. It feels like LG built a tv for me. For Samsung, it kinda feels like they care way more about trying to sell the most tv's than they do about trying to make the best tv's. If they offered a glossy gen 3 qd oled, I'd be more willing to deal with some of the stupid things you have to deal with when you have a Samsung. Their flagship processor does 4k240hz. Imagine if they stopped treating oleds like their redheaded stepchild. They could've set the world on fire by releasing a 4k240 glossy gen 3 qd oled Returned s95d..couldn't deal with bugs, bad ui, macro blocking with shows that look great on my LG CX, and the dull/grainy panel Oh well!! I exchanged the 77 g4 for the 83 and get it tomorrow. I can't believe how much I spent on this thing, but it's incredible. Liked it so much I got the 83

I have a question for you since you had the S95D and now the G4. Is the G4 colors close enough to the S95D as I like the QD-OLED colors but the A95L is too expensive and the S95D matte screen and lack of Dolby vision is a no go for me. Thanks for your input.

@davidross7255 the g4 isn't lacking any colors. I understand the draw of qd oled, but lg came swinging this year. I think the video does a good job of describing the same experience I've had, as well as others. I'm sure there are specific scenes that favor the qd oleds but there are many more that will favor the lg. And the s95d gets way too hot. The lg is just a better tv. Easier to get around..can actually find your hdmi inputs. I was drawn by the promise of qd oled but samsung dropped the ball. S95d is blurry and has macro blocking in streaming content that is crispy clean on my lg

WOW! Another side by side comparison of the 2 best TVs on the market. Both are amazing but the G4 definitely beats the A95L in lots of ways with lower price, bigger sizes, better processor, brighter more detailed screen, and has more adjustable picture modes so that you can REALLY fine tune the picture to fit your eye. I don't even like Sony, but they really do Polish off the premium tvs. Even a80j was more accurate then a c1. Im happy you like the g4 but you are trying to put a big gap in proformance between the two. Btw the a95L gonna look soft or loose 3d pop when leaning on the cool vs the g4 definitely on warm 50. I have the G4 coming Monday. I'm still not convinced any TV is worth $5,200 (delivery plus taxes). But I have a big credit from last yr I have to use so😂metime and I'm banking on a Memorial or July 4th Price drop. So I can justify it in my head. If it doesn't come I'll return it and wait for the 83 inch G4 or Bravia 9 sale later in the year. But I've never had a good experience with any Sony TV. My B7 and C7 both had severe burn in and computer chip issues and LG Support was a dream to work with. Answered immediately and was at my house 3 days later and replaced my panel and computer chip. My b7 failed 3 times within the first yr and the last time it was out of warrenty and they still took care of me and gave me a 40 percent off credit which I used to eventually get the 65 CX which was very expensive at the time. I've had zero issues with my B7 in 6 yrs? Nor my CX. So while I nevery should have had any issues, they earned my trust.

The color is saturated on the g4 sure but the fact that the A95L is a completely different color obviously shows the A95L has more color , especially in the brightness, saturation doesn’t necessarily equal more color. pushing a particular hue really hard isn’t more color. Sometimes it’s just the wrong colors that are saturated lol The characters arm is literally the same color orange as the trees on the g4. Am I the only one seeing that ?

@@paulcox2447 Can you site your source on the whopping 5% of the TV market? They're not #1 you're right, Samsung is, but if you're talking quality of TV's, Sony's highest end TV's are doing well. While Samsung who is the number one TV Brand sells a crap ton of their $200 TV's, while Sony focuses on their nicer models. This is kind of a crappy statistic to throw out at people with no information to back up this poor statistic. I like LG and Sony a lot. I always like to look into what's the best bang for your buck, but you spreading misinformation is not the way to do it. You can't base any TV purchase off of KZbin comparisons. You have to listen to the commentary and see them for yourself. At this point there's no real difference in PQ between any of these TVs and you can change the settings to get the look you want. Just pick whichever one is cheaper.

Can we just agree they are a Tie ? Each one with their strengths, Color and the general "look" of the color tint A95L just gets it more right, while LG is going for that green yellow sorta tint, which you'll have to get used to. Yea now the G4 surpasses the A95L in depth and even detail clarity, but the pleasing Look and Aesthetic of QD Oled color shades is a huuuuge one for so many people. (hence that's why the Samsung QD Oleds are selling so well in the first place) Ultimately, I'am still undecided weither I'll go for the 77 A95L or 83 G4, that would just depend if the 83 size even becomes affordable (it's 8 grands right now)

QD OLED A95L has much wider palette and vivid colors than G4
@thephantom9080
@thephantom9080 3 күн бұрын
The difference in color temperature is making the difference. The default LG G4 game mode seems to be far too blue with saturated colors, while the Sony A95L default game mode seems to be closer to the D65 white point with nuetral colors (D65 might seem yellowish to people who are used to the standard blueish whites used in many tvs). For this video, unfortunately both are butchered with cartoony colors (live color and whatever LG’s version is just butchers the image making it oversaturated and cartoony). I guess people enjoy this? The real comparison should be around color luminance (for example an orange fire glowing or a yellow sun bleezing or a neon sign shining), the A95L will probably be more impactful here with the beautiful HDR color luminance. The other thing is the benefit of having HGIG on the LG G4 (HGIG when done right is amazing as it shows the peaks in HDR in a much more impactful way), as DTM tends to brighten the overall picture, resulting in less HDR impact for highlights. It is really unfortunate that A95L doesn’t support HGIG!!!

To my eyes the a95l had better shadow detail and better color. It was also easier to see different tones of the same color when they were next to each other. In other words, if there was green trees, grass and bush all next to each other I could easily see the difference where the LG g4 had a hard time doing the same.

for color you just have to rely on the person in from of the TVs . LG have really improved the color mapping to BT2020, plus they probably know how much white to throw in so the red still looks pure. Plus they can't just tweak the top end, so again probably adjusting whole picture to make the more intense primaries pop. I think the good news is they won't change out the alpha 11 SOC next year, they may tweak it to V1.2 . So with 5 years of upgrades this TV will improve. If the G5 goes to 4 Stacks of OLED then the color will be even better ( hopefully more new upgrades as well, but another OLED stack will be a good boost ) . I'm waiting for CES next year if new QD-OLED or G5 super amazing then will get a heavily discounted TV at 65" to replace current and hold off for my forever large TV

@nicholasangel5522. Hey, thank you for the comment and checking out the video. I just had a conversation about this with another viewer who owns a g3 and asked if it's really that much of a step up from the g3. I think his question was more of a question in terms of gaming. But I did mention to him that it's kind of like what lg did with the g4 Is take all the ability of what the g3 can do when watching 4k hdr physical disc or 4k hdr streaming, and have the same looking performance in game mode now. So I would think for you, there certainly would not be any major noticeable difference. Yes, processing has improved in certain ways like motion, and you have the ability to customize tone mapping, and yes, audio is marginally better. But I personally think if you're not a gamer, then the g3 would be the better pick as again the more notable differences are in game mode and dtm. Yes, the highlights are a little better, and colors are better but not so much of a difference outside of game mode compared to the g3.

Sharpness 50 on the A95L will give you more 3d effect side by side in comparison with the G4.. well, many viewers think that the A95L has no 3D effect... I can't understand these comments that claim that the A95L shouldn't have a 3D effect... With the right settings the A95L comes much closer to the G4, although the G4 is minimally plastic but the a95l is not as bad as that LG's fan boys want to portray him. My suggestion to this viewer: watch fewer videos on youtube and look at the TVs in real life. 🤣🤣🤣

And also live color is set to low while the g4 does not have an equal color enhance setting to be set to. As far as color volume goes. It depends on the actual color is what I'm noticing so far. But overall the best way to explain it in my opinion is that the g4 has improved its color brightness and purity overall. And does look closer to a qd oled. Good video before I start to say anything. It looks like the Sony is more calibrated towards blue compared to the G4. I noticed that the G4 makes yellow appear more orange. To be honest, it’s really hard to pick one over the other. However, the G4 wins for me because of the 144 FPS on PC gaming and its price and the 5 years warranty. In some scenes, I prefer the Sony, and in others, I prefer the LG. :/

I have the a95l, and I like to do my own first impressions and immediately the sony had way more details. Pausing, i spent a long time studying and confirmed repeatedly that yeah, the sony is a much more refined image. The twist, I mixed up the images! I thought lg was left and sony right and was very sad as i was thinking the whole time that the lg was shitting on the sony. Despite my strong bias, sony still came out on top in picture quality, and it wasn't even close. Using the trees as an example, the sony produces detailed leaves, whereas lg it's more like a color blob. Looking at everything else it's the same story, more granullar details on the sony. Now, do i recommend the sony? Not really. The issues they have with audio are unacceptable at that price point especially. Still, it doesn't happen all the time and the picture quality is second to none

ogcod ...interesting comparison, they are both excellent TV's, but you are clearly LG biased with LG products all over your house. Having an LG fridge has nothing to do with how good their TV's are. If you want to promote the G4 as superior, you are going to have to do better than quoting "more colours," because the A95L has more colour in every example you showed. It even has one colour that the G4 cannot seem to do ...grey. The grey stones are a warm off white on the G4 which kills realism. Your eyes are seeing the warm stones as an extra colour that the A95L does not have, so you assume the G4 has more colours. A neutral grey is very hard for a TV to pull off and the G4 cannot do it because the grey is coloured. We could argue whether the stones should be grey or off white, but the point is, what if the stones should be grey and the G4 cannot show them. That's a problem. Those neutral grey boxes you created above each TV to display the name, watch this video on your G4 and see if the boxes are neutral grey or warmed up. Looking at the characters arm at 17:17 the highlight colour on his arm and face is a single colour blown out like radiation on the G4. Over saturation. The A95L has other darker colours in there to bring out the texture detail.

Hey, thank you for your comment and checking out the video. Means a lot. I can see how one could think that I am biased because of the number of different lg products I own. But I promise you it's not. I have a bunch of samsung products and Sony products, too. I've owned both a samsung washer and dryer, too. And I miss them because they were way better performance than the lg washer and dryer and allot cooler too. I also have owned like every samsung watch known to man, every single samsung phone basically ever made, and tvs, too. I've technically owned more samsung tvs throughout my past more than lg tvs. And I now have an s90d that I really like too. It is one of the best tvs I have ever seen in my life. I also don't think that an lg biased fan would spend the money on 2 77-inch Sony A95L tvs like i did because that it still my overall favorite tv that does check all the boxes off. And as far as the colors go. The LG G4 is improved more in game mode. That is the biggest difference to me versus the G4. But it doesn't mean that it's better in color than the A95L. The A95L is the best happy medium. It's like it's so find tuned from the factory that is not oversaturated like a samsung but not washed out like a traditional oled by lg. While also having great shadow detail, specular highlights. Hdr impact, fine details all in one tv. It has a little bit of the best of all it's competition. And they pin pointed it better then any other brand while having the processing to be able to handle all that so well. Belive me I get it. I own 2 of them. But it doesn't mean that the G4 is not better then the A95L in other ways. The G4 is a very very impressive tv. It's an oled that looks very high end qd oled in many ways while still being able to maintain the best 3d effect in the game period. It really is impressive. And honestly I dint care why or hiw lg is doing it, there killing it with the clarity and and being able to bring put the fine details better then any other tv I ever seen. You can bring up rc and sharpness to 20 or over on an A95L all you want. The LG will look better in that dept without any special settings being enabled to help get there. Like I said the A95L is the best happy medium. Although other tvs can have more color or more fine details over the A95L, A95L of the attributes combined and covers all bases of the best of both worlds. Noone can do it like Sony in that way is what the A95L proves to me. As far as the way the colors look in camera, it is definitely the camera contributing to that. They look allot closer when in person. I can assure you that. Very similar to the way the qd oleds can have a pint tint to it over camera. It's due to white point balance and exposure.
