4:57 that's BNSF 6976 that Maersk paint scheme is rare! The 6976 is the ONLY locomotive in the world to ever wear that paint scheme. (The "rare principle": do and keep what is rarest.) This is the only preserved former Amtrak SDP40F locomotive (apart from the test bed unit EMD still apparently has)

Interesting set of equipment they moved. The Daylight and GN paint schemes are 2 of my favorites.
@OfficialSEIC2K6 Жыл бұрын
They had to move the equipment due to the Union Pacific demolishing the Brooklyn Street roundhouse. The #231 and #644 came along too. They later had to leave Oregon due to extreme vandalism in 2013. 11 years later, BNSF #3613 would be preserved by Oregon Rail Heritage Center. BNSF #3613 is undergoing restoration offsite as of 2023. Also as of 2023, DYRX #644 is operational as #6976 again and DYRX #231 is undergoing operational restoration. The rest of the equipment seen in this move is in good hands.

I actually panned my camera into a shot of one of those Nickel Plate Road Engines at the end of one of my railfanning videos. I was shooting a freight train going west along Division St. in SE Portland, Oregon. The Engine was at the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation !!!

1:13 Is that a daylight schemed engine that they never used on an excursion? If so why haven't they?
@blackbirdgaming81478 жыл бұрын
YourLocalRailfan Yes. That is a former Amtrak F40PH repainted into Daylight colors.
@FastFreightStudios8 жыл бұрын
I could have much preferred that engine on 4449's excursions.
@blackbirdgaming81478 жыл бұрын
YourLocalRailfan You and everyone else except me. I would have liked to see Doyle try to lease the former Cascade Daylight E9 (She's currently at the CA State RR museum in Sacramento and operational as far as anyone knows. She doesn't get out much.) for excursions. Would be a bit more appropriate if you ask me since both are "actual" Daylight locos and probably ran at about the same time.

How did they store all that equipment at the new facility where they house 4449 and 700? The place don't seem to be big enough for all the rolling stock and diesels
@intermodalman12311 жыл бұрын
it was still a sf locomotive but sf painted the one seen here, a gp60 (146), and a set of well cars in the maersk scheme for promotional reasons. ns also painted a maersk unit (#3329)

@geomodelrailroader5 жыл бұрын
@@844Steamtrain they were moved to Nevada to the State Railroad Museum in Boulder because Dynamic Rail did not pay the bill and they were blocking an active UP siding that was needed for 844 and Big Boy to come into the museum.

A few frames would be adequate, instead of redundant and repetative scenes of sameness. Lack of a descriptive monoloque overlay also detracts from this presentation. Sorry to be negative, but that is how this viewer feels.
