WOW. Pretty cool to see these Guys talking to each other now. The Battle of Alberta in the 80's was EPIC

Agreed 100%. As a lifelong Flames fan of four decades-plus, seeing these guys just sit next to each other and reminisce about their on-ice battles humanizes them. It did for me! All of a sudden, I didn't despise Kevin McClelland and Dave Hunter, after watching them battle the Flames all those years ago. I listened to them and they struck me as just regular guys whom I very would have likely cheered for, had they played for the Flames. I was amazed at how Tim Hunter spoke fondly of the late Dave Semenko. And, just like that, Semenko wasn't Cementhead to me any more. As humans, we're hardwired to be tribal. As a Flames fan, I'm conditioned to viscerally react with contempt and annoyance any time I see or hear the words "Edmonton Oilers," and so when events like this take place, I admit it's a challenge for me to hear a former Oiler player speak respectfully and admiringly of the Flames, and vice-versa. It's jarring when your hockey worldview is challenged in this manner, and I'm very happy to state that I'm glad I watched and listened to what the players had to say. I admit that my rancorous and biased views of these Oilers players has softened somewhat. No one on these 1980s and 1990s Flames and Oilers teams asked to be drafted into the Battle of Alberta. Any one of them could have ended up elsewhere in the NHL...or not ever play in the NHL...or they could have ended up being drafted by, or signed as a free agent with, the other Alberta team. But they all answered their respective team's call. And, to a man, they all played the game with conviction, courage, and determination. So, this Flames fan salutes the1980s/1990s Edmonton Oilers. I'll never again see hockey played the way Calgary and Edmonton played it all those years ago. What a thrill and a time to be a Flames fan...and an Oiler fan!!!

Oilers/Flames Canadiens/Leafs Canadiens/Nordiques Rangers/Islanders etc. These are rivalries we'll never see again. 1980's and 1990's NHL hockey was unbelievably great. The NHL today is a joke compared to back then.
