I’m in constant awe when watching these tiny kids fly down a mountain as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. I’m 58 and my son is now 16. I first took him skiing at the age of 4, and watching his progression through the years to become the accomplished skier he now is is one of my life’s greatest pleasures. Fantastic video 👍

A camera never illustrates fairly just how steep runs are, is this a run you must do with a guide or an thinking of somewhere nearer to Cervinia? 85% is near 90° vertical, wow - does it ever get groomed? And only 4, she'll make one of the future teams, get them on skis as soon as they can walk right?

@andregarcia335514 күн бұрын
@alphabet6814 yes there´s something to it too. When i was a kid skiing i wanted to be the FASTEST rider. I was aware of the consequences. But true to be told most of the times i crashed i just lifted myself like it was nothing. Didn´t even care to check myself. lol Now if i crash... it´s a pain in the ass. I get dizzy, light headed, bruised.... Having 30kg back then and 90kg now and older, also makes a difference with impacts.

It is a great thing you have done for your kids with skiing. Alex did a great job with impressive confidence and control. The video was wonderful to watch. I will show it to my neighbors kids. I took them skiing twice this season. They were 6, 9 and 11. The 6 year old is athletic and smart. He learned faster than the other two. By the end of the second day they could do ok carved turns with their skis paralell. Them seeing Alex ski on a tough slope with get them psyched. Great video.

My mum took me down a similar black run in Portes du Soleil when I was 6. I made a bad turn after 20 seconds and then tumbled down the entire run, around 300 meters. Skis, poles, gloves, all over the place. No injuries but I refused to continue skiing that day and we took the bus back to the apartment.

Beautiful to watch and just goes to show that kids are FAR more capable than society generally believes. We are not skiers but have been doing trail running since our kids took their first steps. For kids to have these types of mega-achievements under their belts at such a young age is very empowering later in life, as we are seeing now with ours. Our little girl is the youngest ever to complete the 14km City to Surf here in Sydney at age 2 without assistance, our son is the youngest to complete the Tongariro Crossing (20 km over an active volcano in NZ) at age 4. These achievements have underpinned a very healthy and can-do mindset in their young lives. Good on you dad. You are normalising toil and the resulting achievement in young Alexis and Maya. They will do well. Now you just have to keep them from the damaging influence of devices and the messaging they carry and they will be miles ahead of the pack! Cheers from Sydney - Dave

Non ? Mais bon, il a le temps !!!
@mushizz Жыл бұрын

Kids skis are half to two thirds the length of an adults, yet a kid of that size weighs one fourth or one third that of an adult, so the ratio of braking ability to weight is significant. Also, their strength to weight ratio is significantly greater for the same reasons that an ant can lift a weight many times its body weight. The force per muscle fiber is significantly lower for the same maneuver. That's why at Palisades Tahoe, level 4 (out of 7 levels) Mighty Mites go down chute 75 routinely, which at 40-50 degrees at the top is around 90-100% grade. Either way, it's nice to see Dad and kid skiing together - precious memories you'll never forget.
