Yeah except the 900 ace is allot heavier and not the same mountain platform the 850 was designed around. Over all the arctic cat king cat 9000 is the best overall 4 stroke turbo as it comes with everything g the yamaha sidewinder does except gets better clutches then the yamaha as they are almost identical but the 850 doo will always be king untill the next doo comes out hahaha

mcce11 one of the Ski Doo’s is turbo’d, the 900 Ace 4 stroke but the 850 is their top line 2 stroke.

The trap times are one thing but the yamacats are going ten mph faster than the 900t and two strokes at the 1,000 foot mark. Fast big trails in Quebec and New Brunswick it’s lights out you can’t keep them in sight on any other sleds.

That's what happens when yamacats have 100cc and 50hp more. If this had the same hp that the new Can Am Mavericks have( same engine) skidoo would have been a lot closer. Check out Turbo Dynamics video with one running a reflash that is still 5hp under a stock yamacats racing ones with 270 and 300 hp. It will change your impression on the 900t.

@Daniel Bunk 2 stroke turbocharged engines have been around for a long time and are reliable (i.e. "detroit 2 stroke turbo"). They just have to make a factory one. They just haven't needed to because of what they are getting out of a naturally aspirated 2 stroke. They are able to put out the power and do more things then just go straight fast.

So my stock tuned and clutched 2000 thunder cat was faster than all these new crazy sleds. Weird I hit 110-112 in 1000ft. With my 660 gears. They just must be out of the box. Not even a clutch tune nothing.

Reality Check that’s a negative dude. As someone who owns both. The 2001 tcat 1000 stock for stock will walk all over a new Tcat turbo. Just the facts, the old tcat 1000 was 113 in the 1000 foot “stock” 20 some years ago. And I would love to see an 850 of any make or class beat the old tcat on a lake.

At that speed it’s a lot to do with aerodynamics. Old sleds were lower, new sleds have more drag with higher rise heights...better suspensions

If your comparing apples to apples every other sled was a 137 so ya... I'm sure a MXZ TNT 129 is faster than a Renegade 137 as well so that's as fair as it gets I guess. More to do with clutching and how well they were broken in when it comes to the 850s

Harvey: the ski Doo was .2 mph slower then the cat so it's not faster it quicker cuz it finished .1 sec quicker then the cat. But it also took 50 more cc to do this and a $1500 more price tag
