Amazing how two different manufacturers, different engines, skid, clutching, etc can be that close! That blows me away.

Doesn't get any closer. Buy what you like and have fun.

Looked like it was close off the line but the Doo pulled the Polaris up on top. You can hear the Polaris guy say all he can get is 103 mph. I’m riding an 850 etec and love it with zero issues but if your looking for hyper speed lake running, think the Sidewinder is the way to go. Be safe out there.
@joeyw1ls0n5 жыл бұрын
Verum Quaesitor on the next run my Indy stayed in the rpm and I got 107 or 108. The Polaris seems to have a better low end but the renegade has more top end. Maybe 5mph more. But in over an ¼ mile it didn’t pull it

I bet his sled is very new and still running extremely rich. Should top out closer to 125 mph
@dickjohnson22dp3 жыл бұрын
The only way it would go 125 is if you push it out of on air plane
@jacobhildebrandt60973 жыл бұрын
No airplane required. Wrong. I had my 850 XC with a tall windshield up to 121 mph with the GPS gauge on a railroad track in Wisconsin. Was still going up when I let off the gas. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it would have kept going. I’d send a pic of the max speed, but I recently updated the GPS software and it was reset. Don’t care if you believe, I have witnessed.
@jacobhildebrandt60973 жыл бұрын
Terry Johnson. I too have been riding my entire life. It does go that fast, according to the GPS. Have you ever tried staying on the gas for 5 miles on an old railroad track with an 2020 XC 850? I have and it reached 121 mph after a couple miles on packed snow and around 20 F and was still creeping upward.
@dickjohnson22dp3 жыл бұрын
The pict of the track the angle of the rails and the team clutch is very inefficient all slow you down and the high windshield all cut about at least 15mph off that sled the 850s I've raced that are stock have a little bit more on the bottom ,but are no faster then the last 800s and not near what the old thundercat and old XCRs 800 triples
@jacobhildebrandt60973 жыл бұрын
I don’t know about these jokers, my 2020 850 marked 121 mph. 450 miles on it, 137” Cobra 1.35”, 100% stock XC Adventurer with the biggest snow check windshield I could get. Conditions were optimal and the track was perfect, freshly groomed 20 mile straight run. Reach right around 120 not once but twice, maxed at 121. Took about 2 miles to creep from 115 to 120. Getting up to 115 was not that difficult, perhaps a mile. These guys are complaining about it maxing out at 105.

My 2017 ski doo mxzx 850 hits 125 mph. I should try slouching down on the sled to see if that would increase my speed.

Don Olypopper There ya go, welcome to (or back to) the great world of lightweight and powerful 2 strokes. The technology in modern 2 strokes, especially etec, make them close enough to 4 strokes in reliability, fuel economy, oil economy, and cleanliness that it’s totally worth the loss of weight and upgrade in power

I’ve hit 108 on my patriot 850 and it was still pulling, I let off it, not sure what’s going on here. I raced my buddy with an 850 etec and blew him away on acceleration and top end

Indy or assault? Track, track length, and gearing have a lot to do with this. This is a 137” renegade with a 1.25 track vs a 129” Indy with a 1.35 track

Mine is an 21 Indy XC 137, he was on a 19 Renegade 137. We switched sleds multiple times on the ride during the day, both agreed the xc had more power
I call pure bullshit on your false and fake news claims. The Doo 850 is the speed king of the 850 class period end of story.

@@bobhirdes6725 well that’s very nice that you’re so partial to ski Doo that you will ignore facts. Just think about it here for a second. The Polaris has more horsepower and more torque. People who claim that it is within 2 horsepower have not seen the numbers with polaris his new tune because it’s about 6 to 8 hp more I’m not quite positive on the torque number. The Polaris is also a lighter sled. One other thing to add is the fact that Polaris has much better clutching it’s extremely radical and Agressive both down low in the mid range as well as top end. The ski Doo on the other hand has an extremely linear power curve and riding one is like listening to someone with a monotone voice. They are definitely an OK sled but they won’t surprise you that’s for sure.

@nsp52585 жыл бұрын
Even my 9000 turbo tops out at 105mph most of the time. Seen 110mph a few times on ideal hardpack running the backcountry x track 1.75" lug. The Speedo says one thing but the gps doesnt lie, never had mine on GPS and it is all stock but I can testify that it pulls harder to 100mph than any other stock sled ive ever ridden. Owned a 9000 before with the 1.25" ripsaw and it was much smoother past 100mph and the Speedo would consistently climb to 115mph and creep close to 120 with enough lake. Nothing pulls like that yammie 4 stroke.
@atcmxz59895 жыл бұрын
Noah Ranker you’re a dumb fuck. Lots of old sleds would do over 120 mph in stock configuration none of the new 2 strokes do that. They may accelerate a little faster but the older ones have higher top speed do some research idiot new sleds are designed for deep snow and acceleration not top speed

sidewinder is a TURBO CHARGED snowmobile and should NEVER be compared to a non Turbo charged snowmobile because they are in a different class as in power and torque. Stupid comparison.... enough said

I think what he is saying is why does anybody care about 2 strokes they will slowly fade out and just be ridden in the mountains
@bobhirdes67255 жыл бұрын
tjaynes22 that is blatantly false. Two stoke snowmobiles are not going anywhere. Turbo charging is a modification to a engine that has forced air induction to produce more power. Just don’t compare a naturally aspirated engine to a turbo charged or super charged engine because it’s not the same. Nothing to brag about when your turbo charged snowmobile beats a non turbo charged snowmobile.
@tjaynes225 жыл бұрын
@@bobhirdes6725 i know what a turbo does lol and it's factory on thundercats and sidewinders therefore not a modification ......4 stroke tech and performance has surpassed 2 cycle engines just watch to a motocross race....it's just my opinion that 2 cycle popularity will decline because people will always want to go faster 2 strokes just won't cut it anymore
