Hello, I'm a carpenter and a car guy and use some knipex tools. One project I can't seem to find the right tool for is cutting aftermarket hoses and lines. Some of the hoses we use are ptfe teflon core that needs to be cut cleanly however the challenge shows up when it is sheathed by braided stainless steel or kevlar. If you could point me in the direction of some options or a location in the greater Milwaukee Wisconsin/Chicago Illinois area to check out some solutions, I would be ecstatic.

Best way is a chopsaw with the correct blade. Looks like Knipex don’t do a tool that will cut large enough to do stainless braided hoses. They have wire rope shears but they’re only small handheld jobbies that will do about 1/4”. You need shears rather than a straight cut so as to obviously not crush the hose. For hand tools, Mishimoto do a set of line cutting shears which will do up to AN10, but if you want a set of shears that will last the test of time and have replaceable blades, Felco make incredible shears for wire rope that also work great for braided hoses, bowden cables etc. The C12s have a big jaw opening that will do 1/2”, or the C16s are even bigger. They’re expensive new but often come up cheap on Ebay lightly used, or you can just get new blades.

For smaller PTFE core hose I’d recommend one of the small rubber tubing cutters with the triangular blades. My KELM one does up to around 1/2”

Couldn't do a continous shot of that nut being turned you had to stop and then start footage at 1 minute mark. Knipex is a great tool but don't be scumbags with the marketing
