86 383 camaro stroker z28 third gen

my car. 383 crate engine, tpi very worked, stainless works long tube and y-pipe, dynomax "cat" back
Blueprint engines bp3834ct1, comp cams XE274H, stainless works 1 3/4" lt headers, 2.5" y pipe to ls1 dynomax exhaust. Tpi plenum was matched to bbk 58mm throttle body, plenum to runners, runners to base and base to head were all gasket matched. 36# accel injectors. 2400 stall, stockish 700r4, 2.73 stock rear.

for the longest time i didnt think a 383 would fit under the stock IROC hood, now that i know it can....i cant wait to bore out my beautifull SBC 350 that i got from edelbrock :)

I had a 88 IROC back in the day I made into a SC383 With DFI box/T-56 6-speed manual I programmed myself. Would melt the 315s in the rear at 60MPH.

the part number for the engine is BP3834CT1. i bought a bench tuned chip from pcmforless but they no longer offer tuning for the maf tpi. i port matched the runners, plenum and base, and matched the plenum for the twin 58mm tb. its not a perfect tune but it runs with no major issues, just some hiccups when cold or trying to stay at low rpms

I do have subframe connectors but not at that time. It had the stock 2.73 posi. Had to warm it up to spin both. Its a blueprint engines bp3834ct1 crate engine 430 hp 466 tq

marcus limbaugh its plenty now that i ditched tpi and went to holley efi. its enough power to blow the tires off if you want, but not too much that its scary. my current best 1/4 is 12.004 @ 118 on street tires, but the car is built to corner

Crazy how much this looks like my Camaro. It also has a 383. Mine is an 87 though and the paint is chipping/peeling. It has weak 2-1 exhaust from a diesel on it and stock exhaust manifolds, need to get a true dual setup. I have a lot of work to do(aka money to spend) to make it look nice since I let it sit for 10 years and am just now getting to work on it, but it is sure a blast.

36lb injectors, twin 58mm throttle body, 350 knock sensor, holley high volume fuel pump and a prom chip by pcmforless . com there were other supporting mods including port matching the intake, exhaust, radiator, ignition and many other things. i reused the stock tpi setup

13.181 @ 105 is the best so far. can't remember the 60', but i could only launch from 1300 rpm because otherwise the tires would spin while staging. thats with the stock 2.73 rear

I swapped from ported tpi and 700r4 to hsr and t56 at the same time. It felt like a full 100 hp gain, and quarter mile times went from 13.0 to 12.0

Its for 98-02 but it pretty much bolts on and only had to shorten and flare the inlet to match the stainless works long tubes and y pipe

2.73 gears were ok since the tpi couldnt breathe over 4500. 700r4 was refreshed and held up, but would slip either the band or converter when wide open in 4th gear
