If I remember correctly from the novels, "Whore's daughter" is carved into Anju's back because she's an Alba/86 hybrid. Hence her silver hair/blue eyes. Edit: I'm also dissatisfied with how they adapted the Lena/Commodore conversation about canceling the suicide mission. I guess they had to cut some of it for runtime, but imo they cut one of the best parts. In the novel, he gets much angrier. To summarize/paraphrase, he calls out how shitty the people of San Magnolia are, "This is what happens when we use democracy and hand over all power to lazy fools who can't think of anyone but themselves." He actually DOES hate the system too, and it gives greater weight to his following line, "Freedom and equality are ideals far too early for humanity." Like Lena, he does think the whole situation's wrong, but unlike her, he's already given up on humanity as a whole. I like to imagine that Jerome is what Lena could've turned into if she'd never gotten involved with Spearhead Squadron.

no it dont have something like that, he use his hand really, I think the scar it just make for the story becoming fun, so take the logic of this anime to be seperate from reality is ok (since 86 already the scifi and superpower a bit too example Shin special power plus you will see more of them in next season if they have it)

When a show makes you think and feel you know its a good show. Stuff like this has happened many times in the past. WW2 for example. Not all alba are bad. I get why someone would just want them all dead. But that is not right.

I'm the same way with this show, it makes me genuinely upset. I hope homegirl starts a rebellion or something from within San Magnolia because this is some bullshit. I really want this show to have a happy ending for the 86 in the end but it seems really unlikely. Thanks for the vid as always.

Very very late response but the scar is from a necklace that Shin was wearing, when his brother choked him that necklace pressed on his skin hard and left a scar.

2 years late to comment this but just choking someone make a line like that. If someone is killed my being choked the mark will show up in that place it's real thing. If we put really hard pressure on part of our muscle, little blood vessels get bust. That's how they get marked. Marking on people that get hanged is 90% this and 10% rope burn. Sometimes it's 0% rope burn.

@@FreshestAnime I think they are going for symbolism. I think he choked him hard enough to give him scars but the scars should be uneven . But Shin's scars are even which is unrealistic.
