Mike, I did a community post on his passing, but this is very nice. Thank you for doing it. A statue should be put up in his home town Chester Le Street. RIP Geordie. RIP Killing Joke

I can still hear my mate's gasp of joy when he first listened to the opening cords of love like blood. He turned towards the jukebox in the pub we were drinking in as if it were going to enlighten him to who was playing such joyous music. The expletives rolled out of his mouth with several what the fucks... possibly the best reaction from someone who wasn't a fan of Killing joke. Thanks Geordie RIP..

Hi, No, I'm from Sunderland NE England and your pronunciation of Chester-le-Street is spot on. I'm also a big fan and I'll miss his unique playing style. Eighties and Love like Blood were fantastic examples of Geordies' style of play. Another great musician gone too soon.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us. I've only just learnt about his passing, and it feels like I've entered a new stage of the world's history, gosh.My thoughts go to people who were closest to him, to Jazz and Big Paul on the side of Killing Joke.

Its a decent album, love the song "Exit", but I like the other 4 of their first 5 better. Great band regardless. Thanks for watching!

"Love like blood" worst track on "Nighttime" ???? 'So Tabazan" is better than "Love like blood" ??? And "Absolute Dissent" just okay ???????? Listen to "Nighttime " and "Absolute Dissent" again - AB so superior ! "Love like blood" aside "nighttime " has a limp tacky 80s sound to it - "Absolute Dissent " has better tunes and and a deeper more spacious production. Thank you for listening
@playvinylinthemilkynight18796 ай бұрын
Yes Tabazan is better than Love Like Blood. And Night Time is better than Absolute Dissent. "Limp tacky 80s sound" - you're referring to Brighter Than a Thousand Suns. I like the heavier sound of Extremities and Hosannas. Absolute Dissent is just ok, no memorable tracks.

Fantastic video Mike. Geordie was so important to post punk a real pioneer of his guitar style. Definitely the sound of Killing Joke. I first saw them in the early eighties after the debut was out and his guitar sound was breathtaking. Thanks for showing you collection, it has inspired me to try and fill the gaps in my collection. Excellent video! Mike

Tom Verlaine & Geordie were my favorite guitar 🎸 players. Both were substance over style players. Both had a signature sound that many tried & failed to emulate. Nighttime is my favorite Killing Joke album.

I don’t have everything but do have some of the items you mentioned not having. Let me know if you might be interested in connecting. RIP Geordie.

I so wish that Killing Joke would have included songs from brighter than a thousand suns in their live setlist! It's as good as their other albums as far as I'm concerned. Rest comfortably, Geordie.

They didn't like The Production of Chris Kimsey.
@deletebilderberg9 ай бұрын
@@davidellis5141 Nope. Why would the production have any bearing on whether they played the songs live? The real reason was precious Youth generally refused to play on anything he didn’t perform on record.
@davidellis51419 ай бұрын
@deletebilderberg Youth Produced Bittersweet Symphony in 97. Probably the song of the 90's. Follow Killing Joke ? ..They have a total disdain of that album & Virgin pushing The Rolling Stones Producer on them. I think the record is OK ..they didn't.
