I did not love every Killing Joke album, but always had the utmost respect for this band. Along with New Model Army, they remain entirely authentic from the first song to the last. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns is also an all time album for me. Geordie was a very talented and unique player and I'm especially sorry to realize that there won't be any more albums from them. I feel bad for Jaz who has lost 2 friends in Geordie and "The Raven" many years prior. Sad yes, but grateful for all of the music left for us to enjoy.

Thanks for the comment. I think you're definitely right that they won't be anymore albums from them. I feel for Jaz as well - they've been with KJ all the way thru from the late 70s. Yes very sad to loose Geordie, O was never a fan of the 1000 Suns album and outside the Gate was mostly a Jazz side project. I too saw them live for the first time in 1994 in The Students Union venue in Manchester on my own none of my freinds liked killing joke. I had to sleep in the Train station after missing the last train back to Macc, Were my car was parked before getting back home for an hrs sleep before heading to work. The Woman I have shared my life with for 20 years now I also met through Killing Joke and the Gathering groups and the now long gone killing Joke chat group. We met in the Chat group after I returned from the forth concert day during the 2003 tour she was a fan living in Hamburg Germany . So since 2009 we have been living in Hamburg have first met face to face on the 28th Dec 2003. So killing joke were a very important part of our lives until Raven passed then we drifted away from them. But with this passing we are listening to a lot of their music . Yes Geordie will be missed.

Your comment shows how a band can have a huge impact on our lives. The 94 tour was the same tour I saw them for the first time in Leeds. As a group they're unique and 100% authentic. Your spot on that Geordie will be missed as well mate. Thanks for the comment and the story of your experience of being a fan - it's appreciated 👍

Killing Joke were an amazing band & I am so sad to hear of Geordie's passing! I saw them twice in Boston in the early 90s & they were incredibly good both times. Geordie stood there so graciously & humbly as he hammered out so many rich & mighty riffs and sonic washes the whole time. What an amazing artist. Being a drummer I also adored Martin Atkins' raging drumming, but I always had a deep affinity for Geordie & his powerful guitar sound. May he rest in peace.

Hi thanks for the comment 🙂👍 mighty riffs and sonic washes is a great way to describe Geordie's style. The album Martin Atkins played on - Dirt, Extremities and Various Repressed Emotions is great. Slipstream is a personal favourite. The comment is appreciated mate - thanks for watching 👍

Very well said. Killing Joke has played a big part in my life, especially in the last five years or so, when I picked up on their entire catalog. It was actually twenty years ago that I bought Brighter Than A Thousand Suns, my first experience of their sound. Shortly after I got myself hooked on Pandemonium. It took me some time but when I found Nightime it really bridged their earlier sound with what came later. Today BTATS really speaks to me deeply, you're not kidding about the lyrics being poetic on a really special level. Killer album, no filler for sure. Funny, I just recommended the documentary a few minutes ago, "Death and Resurrection Show." I also mentioned the song "This Tribal Antidote," even though Hosannas is a very dark record, the first thing you hear is Jaz bellowing out is "Lift up your spirits!" That has helped me on many dull gray mornings to get myself focused. This is what I love about KJ, there is a song for everything and it's all very real, very raw. Your last message is very true. A bit of kindness goes a long way, the moment we are in gives us the opportunity to choose to make our world a more difficult place or leave things better than we found them. I'm cynical as they come, I'm from New York haha. It is still the truth. I always tell people if I didn't laugh I would cry. Letting out emotion is far healthier than bottling it all up. Sending my best regards to you and yours.

Thanks for the comment 🙂👍 it's a great album isn't it! As I mentioned in the upload it would be in my all time top 5 albums at any time. Killing Joke are many things but one thing I do get from them is that they're authentic - there's nothing fake about them. Pandemonium is great as well - seeing them on that tour was fantastic. Glad you liked the message at the end - it's the way I try to live my life now - this wasn't always the case in the past. I really appreciate you watching the video and commenting as well. Sending you good vibes from here in not so sunny Yorkshire where old York is just 45 mins down the road ! 🙂 All the best my friend - Adam 👍

Gibson ES-295. 1952 if I'm not mistaken and good luck finding one in very good condition as this is the same guitar that Scotty Moore, Elvis original guitar player played on the Sun recordings. I've always been on the look out as I'm a small time collector and not an easy find in all original condition. Geordie was an icon of his era to me. The sounds he got out of that 295 was amazing.
