I LOVE the transparency of these! I wanted to see the backs. So happy we finally got beaches!! You know what they say, a bad day at the beach is better than a good day anywhere else!! I think it was a great first attempt. You can always say they're clouds! I sit here and smile through the entire video. Thank you, Julie! Stay safe!

Julie!! OMG a week ago I literally made the EXACT same beach coasters using almost the Exact same colors. I’ll have to send you pics so you can see how similar ours both turned out. I guess great minds think alike!!! 😊😊. My next one will have the beach on the outside. Be careful with the torch....just a tad too much and your resin will stick to the mold, or the heat can melt the mold.

I love the Beach theme. The 2nd look's like a Dinosaur going across the water and the 3rd one look's like a Shark in one corner and a Jellyfish in the other corner. Lol !!! That's what I see anyway. They are very lovely though. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your still trying to get the hang of it. I mean you didnt learn to do your paintings in one day did you ? Chin up and move forward. That's how I get through discouraging times. I think your doing an AMAZING job with the resin !!! 🥰 💐🤗💜👏👍💐

It was quite beautiful before adding the white. The white looks like clouds above the QUARTER PLANET with its beautiful deep colors. Was much prettier prior to adding the white. Can you get cells with resin?
@katiehines6593
@katiehines6593 4 жыл бұрын
Love the first one a lot! Great way to display those quarters. The see through effect is great, if you measure the white, say a half teaspoon, they need to be controlled to avoid what happened this time. How about using an eyedropper for the white? Would make it so much easier to control the quantity of white. Please talk about cells in resin. Once they appear could they be made to "float" above the deep blue & green as clouds above the planet. Can you make a base as you did with blue & green then clear resin rather thick layer then when it is half set up add gold drops with a mix of white and gold above the clear then a final clear coat. Maybe just "fold" the gold/white drops using a bamboo stick or even a long hat pin for design control of the clouds floating in the clear resin. Wish I was there with you as I would love to try it too! It was great fun watching you! Thank you!

The second one you unmolded looked like a dinosaur head in white bit where it was supposed to be your waves and the fourth one looked like a double headed dragon of sorts lol my favorite was the first one and the round one the effects in that were amazing and reminded me of the top of a jelly fish or some kind of sea urchin

Julie, I don't know if anyone suggested it, but when you make waves you don;t pour the clear and put the white on top; you run a thin line of white and then a thin line of clear along the white line on the outer side; you then blow the white up and then blow it down and then blow it up with the clear. That should give your lacing and cells. I think you are doing a wonderful job and learning is sometimes more fun than getting it perfect.

Try using very thin stream of white, your white stripes are too thick Maybe use a thinner stick to apply it to the coaster. You want to blow it forward first and then back. It just takes practice and it will come. :)

I love these! I’ve been too scared to try waves, but, I’m gonna bite the bullet and give it a go as they say. TFS! Oh btw when I get a new mold I fill it with water and then back in the cup and measure, then write it down so I know how much I need altogether, then I figure out how much I need of each color. It’s a math lesson for sure and I’m allergic to math lol🤷‍♀️

@@Emiliapocalypse no genius. I’m sure I learned that from someone else, so I’m glad to pass it on and hope it helps lol. You also have to remember to account for, like my resin is 1:1 so if I need 5oz altogether, I need 2.5oz of resin & 2.5oz of hardener. Good luck, I’m sure it’ll turn out great;)

So glad you are doing resin now. That’s my main interest! Beautiful work. I hope to try beach things soon too. For the record, I think these are beautiful. Doing the waves with resin is hard, I’ve been doing it for a while and I’m still not perfect, it takes a lot of practice. For me, I’ve found the heat gun on the highest setting gets lots of nice cells. You should never have started using resin cause you’ll get addicted, haha....then you’ll move on to bigger things. Great job 👍

Cool coasters. I have no experience in working with resin YET but I just wondered, if when you pour the white you took a skewer or small needle and tried swirling it through the blue or clear, would it look more wave like? Don't know if it would work - it's just a thought.

I was thinking ...what if you put the beach on the wide edge instead of the middle it would be easier to place your waves and to blow them against the larger edge. And maybe if the waves touch from side to side of the wedge all along the beach...just a thought... however, they look very pretty as they are right now
