Gotta love the B58 and S58. Both can make and handle this power on stock engine.

B58 max hp is 800whp, the s58 only gets 66whp more, not worth it at all to buy the s58. They are both 3 liter at the end of the day.

@@dash-kt7uf They were able to track it all day, back to back passes at that power level. We’re not talking a dyno queen here with only 1 pass. It’s holding up at over 1000whp stock engine. Some other engines can’t do that even at half that power.

This is why I hope I can earn enough money to buy a G87 M2 someday. I think about getting the F22 2020-2021 M240i xDrive as my next car, but then I know I would rather have an S58 in the back of my mind.

It was slow because it was only running off the wastegate springs! You can see what it did on the street running the correct boost target!

ECU tek is basically a software that reprograms the car ? or an additional ECU ?

Ecutek is a tuning suite similar to Bootmod3 or MHD that consists of flashing and datalogging capabilities via an OBD2 port dongle. This link shows the RaceRom custom features for the S58: www.ecutek.com/bmw-f-g-series-s58-engine-support/

If you are talking about the loud induction noise, It is from the single turbo conversion and an open compressor inlet(no filter, just a screen to keep out debris). This car sounds even louder because the compressor housing has been machined for a "T51 Mod" so it sounds like a jet spooling up and while it is in boost.

@@MaximumPSI Thanks for your reply, but no that's not what I meant haha :P I'm not talking about the spooling noise actually, I meant the deep growling sound when you went slightly on throttle at ~2:10, normally M3's or S65 in general sound much more "scratchy" out the back end, this M3 right here sounded much deeper and "Supra aka 2JZ like" which I really like and have always been looking for to achieve aswell. That's why I'm asking about what you've changed haha :P if you changed downpipes or anything like for example (probably quiet obvious exhaust manifold otherwise you wouldn't be able to set up the single turbo anyways). I love the job you have done to the car and the colour the customer chose is looking stellar aswell, if you know the colour I'd also love to know that. I assume it's twilight purple but kinda hard to tell 🙂Would love to get a reply again thanks again for the awesome video!

@@Tranlock That is a KLM single turbo setup, a 3.5" midpipe, and a valvetronic rear exhaust. Color is individual package - Twilight purple metallic

Absolutely. This setup is capable of more but the stock motor and trans are the limiting factors.

Not sure I would call a big single turbo a “simple bolt on” considering the fact it’s typically twin turbo’d. I assume you have to swap the manifold in order to run a single turbo…

Respectfully your wrong about the internals. You can run 1000+ stock motor reliably for yrs. I forgot what race car but a race m3 1000whp 1100wtq was broke down and was completely 100% ok. FYI nice cars btw!

If you are referencing the Red Bull Driftbrothers build they mentioned they made 1039BHP and 1285Nm(947ft-lbs)tq. That was on an engine dyno. If you take a 15% correction for drivetrain loss, we stopped at just about the same power level (875), and then turned it down a notch for a bit more safety margin as this is a customer car. I'm always skeptical about these kind of builds. Like sure it looks good in one KZbin video, but from almost every car I've ever tuned 10,000 miles later they're a nightmare. I'd be interested in a seeing a 10,000 to 20,000 mile review with this car, because at the end of the day no one is going to be rebuilding a car every 10,000 to 20,000 miles and love it. In addition if the motor does blow all of those fancy components will be filled with metal shards and that's another $20,000 to $30,000 on top of the new motor.

You should be skeptical and it’s a reason this will void your warranty. While their is nothing inherently wrong with making these kinds of videos cuz they are fun to watch this is classic KZbin fantasy land where everyone drives 1,000hp rockets with no warranty.You will never see a video on life after 10k miles on my modded car because it goes against a content creators agenda of creating engagement. No one will want to know that fixing your mods when they blow up are 2-3x more expensive than actually modding it.

Our goals with each build vary from customer to customer. With this particular car the goal was to set the car up to make as much power as we could without going beyond the stock transmission's capabilities along with the factory internals. It is already slated to get a built engine/trans in the future, and he is understanding of the risks of doubling (or tripling) his car's output. We modify these big power builds with the intention of keeping them together for a long reliable life, unless the customer decides they are setting the car up for max effort and accepts the risks involved with pushing the car and the components to the limits(or beyond). If that is the goal we will help anyone pust the limits and get their car on the top of the record board. They are no fun on jackstands or sitting in the back of someone's shop in pieces! Our stock motor 700whp E46 m3 had over 65000 miles on the turbo build before it got a built motor and turned up further. Proper tuning, failsafes, and component selection are critical to keeping things together for a long time, not just a good time.
