My case yellow cv has been in my pocket pretty much all the time for the past 13 years It has never let me down a case cv trapper was all my Grandfather carried as well he was a farmer and avid hunter and fisherman as am I the trapper will perform everything you need as far as work or play. Great video.

That spey blade is currently best intended for applying peanut butter to English muffins while in the office.

I really like the hand feel of Case's delrin.

I have modern knives but I love Case knives. I remember my Dad, Uncles and Grandfather in the 50’s and 60,s, discussing pros and cons of Case and Boker knives, all slipjoints. None of them were partial to stainless steel. I usually have a medium stockman in my watch pocket. I’m more accepting of surgical stainless than they were.

Stainless steel where crap back in the day!!! I prefer CV in my Case knives tho...

👍 Nice overview of this knife. I prefer the Moose pattern slip joint rather than the Trapper, but very few make those wonderful knives any more.

Nice! When someone says "case knife", a yellow Case trapper comes acrossed my mental screen. I'm on my 3rd now, kept loosing them. They kept sliding out of my back pocket. Finally got a belt sheath. My current one is stainless, but holds a keen edge. Hard to beat for small game. Plenty of grip.

The shape of the spay blade was also for skinning game. You can unzip the fur hide without damageing the flesh. Thats why it is called a trapper!
@80Ragincajun4 жыл бұрын
Thats excatly what i read about the spay blade and why its called the trapper so you could skin animals without ripping the hide. So thanks for posting. I wasnt sure if what i read was true.

I typically go one step up and go with the amber or peach seed jig bone CV models

I just picked up this model today at an Ace Hardware store, I normally carry a Spyderco Endura 4 being new to these traditional knives I'm really surprised how much I love the look of this knife it's just so classy looking and the patina it took from the granny apple I ate an hour ago looks beautiful on the spade blade I am differently a Case fan boy now

I would hardly call this an “Entry Level” knife. Many of us prefer the yellow Felton for its looks and simplicity.
@ISLANDOUTDOORS13 жыл бұрын
As far as price is concerned, the yellow delrin is entry level. If someone wants to try a Case knife, it would be a good starting piont instead of paying for bone or stag.

The shield was probably pinned back in the day because they didn't have a glue good enough to do the job.

I believe you have a 2011 model. Dating starts in 2010 and removes one star/dot each year (yours had nine remaining). Question 4U: I'm trying to find out if Case pocket knives with the "CV" chrome vanadium steel blades will throw a spark with flint. Has anyone tried it?
@paulie4x17 жыл бұрын
Say Heah, Ah, Finally one I have. Yup, I have that identical Case Trapped. I also bought a Jumbo Case Test XX made by another company for Case, Its a beauty, It doesn't have the engraving on the X's but their makes with two large X's but not to indentify year. But I also have Bone handle Trappers and some Sawcut ? I also have a White Handle too. But on my Jumbo Trapped I don't think its a Spey Blade, but more like a Fillet blade Knife.,,.

@dasfaultier85514 ай бұрын
lol no... Case is not the "Top of the Foodchain" 😂😂😂 Case are good entry level Knives & Users, not less not more And, Rough Ryders are better fit an Finisch then Case... for half the Price (but Made in China)
